Isabel Rios,
beloved daughter, sister, and mother was called home unexpectedly
Sunday, February 15, 2009 in Senatobia, Mississippi at the age of
35. She and her twin
brother, Israel, were born in Odessa on Sunday, April 15, 1973 to
Roberto and Connie (Hernandez) Rios.
She worked as a casino floor supervisor in Mississippi.
Those left to
cherish her memory include her parents:
Roberto and Connie Rios of Kermit; one son: Adam Orosco of Walls, MS; one daughter: Audreyanna Orosco of Walls, MS; four brothers:
Adam Campos of Lubbock, TX, Robert Luna of Odessa, and Israel
and Robert Rios, both of Kermit; one sister:
Lorena Rios of Odessa; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins,
and friends.
Rosary will be said
7:00 pm Friday, February 20, 2009 at Family Services Funeral Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, February 21,
2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Father Richard
Waiwood. Pallbearers will include: Thomas Hernandez, Daniel
Hernandez, Raul Lara, Rocky Lara, Cris Orozco, Adam Orozco. Honorary
Pallbearers will include: Roman Flynn and Miguel Flynn. Interment
will follow at Kermit Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor. |

Sheila Ann Harding |

Sheila Harding age
53, of Kermit, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 in Kermit,
TX. She was born on Friday, October 21, 1955 in Jasper, AL to James
Warren and Delesser “Boots” (Allen) Harding.
Sheila loved being
around her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed listening to music and
collecting angels. She was a member of the American Legion Post #
339.
Those left behind
to cherish her memory are two sons: Shawn Turner of Kermit, TX and
Joe Don Nevels of CO, three brothers: Joe Harding, Milton Harding
and Ronald Harding all of Jasper, AL; two sister-in-laws: Linda Jean
Warren of Odessa, TX, and Rita Faye Warren of UT; two cousins: Chrystie Costello of Lovington, NM and Opal Costello of Lovington,
NM; eight grandchildren: Shade Pacheo, Chelse Nevels, Joe Nevels
Jr., Ronnie Nevels Jr., Joeiash Nevels, Tyler Lee Nevels, Ashley
Nicole Nevels and Cheyenne Autum Bree Turner.
She was preceded in
death by her son: Ronnie James Nevels and her parents: James and
Delesser Harding.
Services were held
10:00 am, Monday, February 23, 2009 at Family Services Funeral
Chapel officiated by Brother Dudley Mullins. Pallbearers were:
Richard Warren, Justen Bradford, Joey Ables, Joe Mitchell, Paul
Molinari, and Oscar Gutierrez III. Interment followed at
Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Family Services
Funeral Parlor.

Bernice Solomon

Mr. Bernice Solomon
age 96, of Kermit went to meet his Heavenly Father on Saturday,
February 21, 2009. He was born on June 19, 1912 in Freestone County,
TX to Wade and Jerrel (Jackson) Solomon. He married the love of his
life Atherrilla Mims on June 20, 1940 in Fairfield, TX.
Mr. Solomon was a
member of the Fairfield Quartet. He enjoyed working with his hands and
was a fine carpenter. He worked for El Paso Natural Gas, Kermit Motor
Company and Winkler County. He served in the Army during WWII and he
served as a deacon at The Faith Baptist Missionary Church.
Those left to cherish
his memory are his wife: Atherrilla (Mims) Solomon of Kermit, TX,
sons: Bernice Solomon Jr. of Dallas, TX; McQuester James Solomon of
Odessa, TX and Thomas Jefferson Solomon of Kermit, TX; daughters:
Gloria Harden of Ft. Worth, TX, Jerrel Mae Solomon of Dallas, TX;
Rilla Jean Davis of Garland, TX; Schequita Upshaw and husband Anthony
of Mesquite, TX and Bernetchia Cooper of Dallas, TX; a sister: Bette
Lee Smith of Lancaster, TX; grandchildren: Bernetchia, Anyetta,
Summer, Oretta, Meshondria, Gia, Jeremy, McQuester II, Valerie,
Chelsea, Chaise, Amberlee, Stephonia, Raymond, Gary, Washington,
Ursula and Sholanda; a host of great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in
Death by his parents: Wade and Jerrel Solomon; brothers: Jesse “Jack”
Solomon, Walter “Raleigh” Solomon, Thomas “T.J.” Solomon, Clarence
“Buck” Solomon and Eutene “Snook” Solomon; his son: Burns Solomon;
sisters: Ethel “Sista” Cox, Ardonia Solomon, Mary Lou Spikes and
Legalia Frazier.
The family will
receive friends at the Family Service Funeral Chapel Tuesday from 6pm
to 8pm. Service will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at First
Baptist Church, officiated by: Brother Dudley Mullins and Reverend H.L.
Lewis. Pallbearers will be: McQuester James Solomon II, Jeremy Renard
Solomon, JW Phillips, Anthony Upshaw, Dwight Phillips, Billy Joe
Solomon and Ossie Solomon. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Michael
Redwine, Billy Thompson and Douglas Cooper. Interment will follow
with Military Honors at Kermit Cemetery.
Memorials may be made
in honor of Mr. Solomon, to The First Baptist Church, 400 East Bryan,
Kermit, TX 79745, 432-586-6601.
The family would like
to extend a special “Thanks” to Sandra Lira, Louise Cox and Johnnie
Mae Phillips. You found it in your heart to care for our own,
and for this ”he” is and “we” are so grateful.

Lynda “Jane”
Teasley, age 66, of Clyde passed away Saturday, February 28, 2009 at
her home in Clyde, TX. Jane
was born Thursday, September 10, 1942 in Brady, TX. to Lowell and
Eleanor (Deeds) Lewis.
Jane enjoyed
reading, embroidery, cooking, and spending time with her family.
She was very devoted to her family.
“Granny” as her grandkids called was a very loving mother
and grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was also devoted to her Lord and was a member of the
Church of Christ.

to cherish her memory are her son: Eugene Immel and wife Karla of
Jal, NM; her daughter: Ramona Brown and husband Gary of Clyde, TX;
eight grandchildren: Jennifer Tesillo of Carlsbad, NM., Jillian
Trout of Clyde, TX, Garin Brown of Clyde, TX, Ryan Brown of Clyde,
TX, Rashawna Immel of Jal, NM, Kaleb

She was preceded in

Wednesday, March 4, 2009; 1:00 pm MST at the Jal Church of Christ
officiated by Brothers Darly Micham and Ryan Brown.
Pallbearers will include: Eugene Immel, Gary Brown, Ryan
Brown, Garin Brown, Calvin Trout, and Charlie Tesillo.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kalem Immel and Elijah Herrera.
Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery. Services are

Howard Jones, age 64, of Kermit passed away Monday, March 2, 2009 in
Kermit, TX. He was born
to Roy and Olse (Bell) Jones on Thursday, August 17, 1944 in Reydell,
AK. Mr. Jones enjoyed
working in the yard and gardening.
Those
left behind to cherish his memory are his wife: Lynda Jones of
Kermit, TX; one son: Ernest Jones Jr. of Kermit, TX; one daughter:
Jena Gryder and husband Darryl of Kermit, TX; four grandchildren:
Kara Jones, Jordan Jones, Brandi Graves and Justin Henderson.

James Edward
Butler, age 61 of Kermit, TX; passed away, Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in
Midland, TX. He was born in Lamesa, Dawson County, Texas; to James
Artis and Ida Mae Butler on Saturday, July 26, 1947.
James played
football and loved watching sports. He served his country in the US
Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. James was well known in town for his
willingness to help others and lend a helping hand whenever
possible.
Those left to
cherish his memory are his second mom: Johnnie Mae Williams; three
sons: James Earl Butler of Tyler, TX; Ronnie Edward Butler of Tyler,
TX and Fabian Butler of Midland TX; five daughters: Lisa Butler
Triplett of Midland, TX; Tonya Huey of Tyler, TX; Katina Covington
of Houston, TX; Shemeka Butler of Odessa, TX and Shana Butler of
Odessa, TX; one brother: Quincy Earl Butler Sr. of Iowa Park, TX;
three sisters: Alice Marie Butler of Midland, TX; Phyllis Butler
Royal of Midland, TX and Jacqueline Butler of Midland, TX and
sixteen grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by his parents: James and Ida Butler and his grandparents.

1:00 pm, Saturday, March 7, 2009 at First United Methodist Church;
officiated by Rev. Donald Hunt and Rev. A. L. Jackson. Pallbearers
will be: Sean Butler, Earl Williams, Eugene Williams, Jesse Lee
Cook, Leroy Bowens and Melvin Williams Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will

Carolyn Sue
Owens, age 57, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 in Odessa, TX.
Mrs. Owens was born on Thursday, January 31, 1952, in Haskell, TX to
Charles Emmitt and Opal Oletta (Cunningham) Bale.
Mrs. Owens was a member of Church of God of Prophecy
and enjoyed playing the piano. She also enjoyed singing and being
with her grandkids. She worked at Megadyne with her daughter.

Larry Owens Jr. and wife Roxanne of Kermit, TX; one daughter:

and Larry Bale and wife Kay of Houston, TX; two sisters: Betty Horn
and husband Jack of Arkansas and Ilene Pilkington of Midland, TX;
eight grandchildren: Brooklyn Owens, Macaela Owens, Alyssa Owens,
Jasmine Owens, Devin Owens, Avery Underwood, Anthony Underwood Jr.
and Joseph Garcia.
She was preceded in death by her father: Charles
Emmitt Bale.

will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 16, 2009 at Church of God Prophecy,
officiated by Pastor Syble Stone. Pallbearers will be: Kary Owens,
Larry Owens Jr., Larry Bale Jr., Stephanie Underwood, Rick Owens,

Sherri Rice, age
51, of Kermit passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Medical
Center Hospital of Odessa after her long battle with illness. She
was born, November 12, 1957 in Kermit, TX to James Edward and
Kathryn Wicker.
Those left to
cherish her memory are her husband: Roy Hunter of Kermit; mother:
Kathryn Wicker of Kermit; two sons: Russell Rice and Colin Andrew
Rice; one brother: James E. Wicker Jr. of Wink; two sisters:
Jeannie Kirby of Austin and Tabatha Gilbert of Kermit; and three
grandchildren.
Services will be
2:00 pm, Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Family Services Funeral Chapel. |

Clinton Malcolm Kingston |

Clinton Malcolm
Kingston was born on June 29, 1928 in Haskell, TX and passed
away March 16, 2009. He was the son of Lynn and Bessie Kingston.
Malcolm was
preceded in death by his parents and three brothers J.L., Gene,
and Leon.
After
graduating from high school in Albany, TX, Malcolm enlisted in
the Army Air Force. He served his country until August 1949,
when he was honorably discharged. Upon returning to Kermit, he
began his 35-year career with the US Postal Service. He loved
meeting and greeting the post office patrons, early on as a
route carrier and later, inside, as a clerk.
Malcolm was a
loyal member of the Masonic Lodge # 1258 for over 50 years. He
loved quail hunting and fishing for catfish, rod and reel or
trotline, it didn’t matter to him. He also won many bowling
trophies.
He is survived
by the love of his life, Florene, two children: son - Mike
Kingston and wife Sabrina of Early, daughter - Cheryl Kay Sawyer
of Overton; four grandchildren: Christy Barnett and
husband Chad of Paint Rock, Heather Sweaney and husband Richard
of Burleson, Tiffany Manley and husband Nathan of Tyler, Nikki
Langley of College Station and two great-grandsons: Brogan
Barnett and Harrison Sweaney.
Funeral
services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the First
United Methodist Church in Kermit with Rev. Scott Seymour and
Rev. Chad Barnett officiating. Interment will follow at Kermit
Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Pallbearers will be Kermit Masonic
Lodge 1258. Honorary Pallbearers will be Junior Chapman, Ed
Logan, Kenneth Prather, Ivy Smith Jr. and Clyde Singleton.
Services are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor. |

Montoya, age 4, of Jal, NM passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009 in a
tragic accident. Damian was born on Sunday, September 12, 2004 in
Odessa, TX to Valentin Montoya and Maria Elena Dominguez.
Damian enjoyed
playing in the yard, digging holes, riding scooters, watching
“Scooby Doo” and playing with his dog “Gizmo”.

Courtney Kip Hyde, age 51, passed away April 8, 2009 at his
residence in Kermit. He was born on Thursday, May 9, 1957, in
Wagner, South Dakota to Vern and Elise (Broderson) Hyde.
Courtney loved watching TV, gardening, decorating and spending time
with his dog, "Sadie". He loved making new friends and never met a
stranger.
Those left behind to cherish is memory are his three brothers: Vern
Hyde Jr. of Chamberlain, SD, Ronald Hyde of Kermit, and Neil Hyde
and wife Joyce of Kermit; a sister: Shelby Marshall and husband
Earnie of Sweetwater, TX; a sister-in-law: Helen Hyde of Fairfax,
VA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Vern and Elise Hyde; and
his brother: Roger Hyde.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 am, Monday, April 13, 2009 at Family
Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit, TX. Services will be
officiated by the Rev. Henry Freund. Services are entrusted to
