Dana Lavern
Wilhelm, age 50, of Kermit, TX passed from this life Monday,
September 22, 2008 in Lubbock, TX. She was born Tuesday, May 13,
1958 in Chicago, IL to Doyne and Sybil Marie (Reese) Baker.
Mrs. Wilhelm was an avid homemaker, who enjoyed crafts, yard sales
and internet games.
Those left to morn
her passing are her husband: Mark Wilhelm of Kermit, TX; mother:
Sibyl (Reese) Baker of Mt. Vernon, IN; three sons: Christopher White
of Livermore, KY, Andrew White and wife Ashley of Evansville, IN,
and Timothy White of Livermore, KY; one brother: Rex Baker of Mt.
Vernon, IN; two sisters: Sharron Collins of Mt. Vernon, IN and Kathy
Moll of Evansville, IN; four grandchildren: Taylor White,
Christopher White, Addison White and Allissa Evans; and numerous
nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friend:
Karyl Fuquay.
She was preceded in
death by her father: Doyne Baker.
Services will be
privately held at a later date. Services are entrusted to

MonaRae Galt, age
93, of Kermit passed away Friday, September 26, 2008 at Sienna Care
Center in Odessa, TX. She was born in Cass County, TX on Thursday,
February 3, 1915 to Walter and Gertrude (Mauldin) Stubbs. She
married Charles E. Galt in Monahans, TX November 5, 1985.
She was an artistic
woman with many hobbies. She
played piano and organ at Baptist Temple Church for many years.
She made quilts and pottery and decorated cakes.
Mona was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose children and
grandchildren were the light of her life.

cherish her love and memory include her son:
Ernest D. Bradford and wife Jimmie of Kermit; four daughters:
Peggy Houtchens and husband Bob of Midland, Melba Turner and
husband Charles of Georgetown, TX, Pam Broadway of College Station,
TX, and ReMona Cherry and husband Preston of Kermit; one sister:
Lavern Womack of Harrison, AR; sixteen grandchildren and
twenty-six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by her parents: Walter and Gussie Stubbs; one son:
Larry Bradford; one grandson:
Robert Robertson; her first husband:
Ernest R. Bradford in 1961; her second husband:
Charles Galt in 1988; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services
will be 2:00 pm Monday, September 29, 2008 at Family Services
Funeral Chapel officiated by Pastor Emmett Barnard.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons:
Richard Robertson, Randon Bradford, Trey Cherry, Kelly
Bradford, Jim Bob Cloud, and Brody Cloud.
Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.

L. B. Drake, age 89
of Kermit, died Thursday, October 16, 2008, in Kermit. He was born in
Eastland Co. Texas on Monday, April 21, 1919, to Virgil and Mollie (Brittain)
Drake. He married Freeda Mae Drake on April 16, 1988.
L.B. enjoyed hunting,
fishing, and horseback riding and loved to dance. He was a member of
the Kermit Saddle Club and was a cowboy at heart. L.B. was known to
have broken horses that others could not ride.
He leaves behind
three daughters: Linda Taylor and husband Larry of Kermit, TX, Barbara
Popp of Kermit, TX and Rosalie Smith and husband Galen of Buchanan
Dam, TX; two step-sons: Carl Holder of Tucson, AZ, and Burnsie Holder
and wife Christine of Elgin, Il; one brother: Ben Drake of TX; one
sister: Joyce Lucas of TX; six grandchildren: Tessa Sanchez, Tiffany
Gordon, Justin Taylor, Destiny Garcia, Daniel Popp and Derrick Popp,
twelve great-grandchildren: Alyssia Taylor, Ereka Sanchez, Brandon
Valdez, Tyler Sanchez, Kaitlin Taylor, Caitlin Contreras, Abraham
Contreras, Shalee Taylor, Daisy Taylor, Jordan Garcia, Abigail Castor
and Ethan Ramirez.
He was preceded in
death by his wife: Freeda Mae Drake and his parents: Virgil and Mollie
Drake.
Funeral Services will
be held 11:00 am, Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Family Services
Funeral Chapel officiated by Brother Dudley Mullins. Pallbearers will
be Galen Smith, Justin Taylor, Jesse Pape, Paul Garber and Bobby
Lentz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel Popp, Derrick Popp, Carl
Holder, Burnsie Holder, Curtis Roberson, Wade Roberson, Keith Hathorn

Curtis Allen Hannah age 51 of Kermit, TX passed away on Monday,
October 20, 2008 in Midland, TX.
He was born on Sunday, August 18, 1957 in Kermit, TX to
Robert Hannah Jr. and Catherine Robinson (Huey).
He
was a member of the Church of God in Christ and enjoyed listening to
music.

left behind to cherish his memory are his wife: Jackie
Hannah of Odessa, TX; his mother: Catherine Robinson of
Kermit, TX; his son: Jeffery Hannah of Odessa, TX; his
daughter: Ebony Hannah of Odessa, TX; his brother:
Gregory Latral Hannah and wife Wendy of Odessa, TX; and three
sisters: Linda Skinner and husband Parnell of Odessa, TX; Joyce
Stevens and husband Edgar of Odessa, TX and Brenda Franklin and
husband Donnell of Hobbs, NM.
He
was preceded in death by his father: Robert Hannah Jr., his
grandfather: Robert Hannah Sr. and his grandmother: Cleo
Green.

will be held 2:00 pm Friday, October 24, 2008 at First Baptist
Church led by Elder Donald Hunt. Interment will follow at Kermit
Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Keith Scott, Earl Williams,
Marthell Arnsworth, Barry Kilgore, Kary Owens and Raul Marquez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donnell Franklin, Harry Reeves, Parnell

Saturday, October 25, 2008 at her residence in Kermit.
She was born September 4, 1929 in Urania, Louisiana to Ira
Franklin Moore and Era Mae (Jackson) Moore.
She was a homemaker, a beloved sister, wife, mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother.
Those left to
cherish her memory include three sons:
Gary F. Berry of Dumas, TX, William David Berry of Kermit,
and Calvin Daniel Berry of Ocean Springs, MS; one daughter:
Kathy Berry McLaury of Baird, TX; three brothers:
Joe Moore of Denham Springs, LA, Gene Moore of Kelly, LA and
Kenneth Moore of Baton Rouge, LA; three sisters:
Irene Clark of Denham Springs, LA, Jackie Smith of Baton
Rouge, LA and Linda Williams of Livingston, LA; fourteen
grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in
death by her parents: Ira
Franklin and Era Mae Moore; her husband:
William F. Berry; daughter:
Peggy M. Nilson; two sisters:
Elizabeth Ann Emory and Nettie Dewanna Mammelli; and one

Patricia Ann Barger, age 61, of Wink,
passed away on Saturday, November 01, 2008 at Medical Center
Hospital in Odessa. She
was born November 13, 1946 in Velasco, TX to R. Neal Hawkins and
Ethel Marie Elizabeth (Ryan) Hawkins. Pat
loved working on crossword puzzles and gardening.
She was also a collector of Elvis memorabilia and cross
stitching.
She married Hoyle Lane Barger on May
5, 1965 in Wink and he preceded her in death in 1996.
She was also preceded in death by her parents R. Neal and
Ethel Marie Elizabeth (Ryan) Hawkins.
She is survived by her son:
James Lane Barger and wife Melanie of Decatur, TX; daughter:
Jeane Marie Barger Watson and life partner Carla of Copperas Cove,
TX; five brothers: Ronnie

Pipkin, age 56, of Kermit passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at
her residence. She was born in Joplin, Missouri on Thursday, April
10,1952 to Homer Jay and Elsie Irene (Grubbs) Fuqua.
Linda enjoyed
cooking, baking, quilting, traveling and gambling. One of her
greatest joys in life was being mother and a grandmother. To those
who knew her well, she was known as either “Mama Pipkin” or
“Granny Pipkin”.

Lionel Guerra, age 70, passed from this life Saturday, November 8,
2008 at Hospice House of Odessa.
He was born Wednesday, October 19, 1938 in Roma, TX to Lionel
and Frieda (Umbaugh) Guerra. He
attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA.
He worked in the oilfield.
He
was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church in Kermit and a Kermit
resident for over 30 years. He
was an outdoorsman who loved to fish.
Mr.
Guerra is survived by his sister:
Pam Harbaugh and husband Randy of Spring, TX and one niece:
Anne Harbaugh, also of Spring, TX.
He
was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Rexie Lee Guerra, who passed away in 1993.
Funeral
services to honor Mr. Guerra’s memory will be held 11:00 am
Friday, November 14, 2008 at Grace Temple Baptist Church, officiated
by Pastor Phillip Loveday. Interment
will follow at Kermit Cemetery.

Saturday, July 6, 1985 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Jesus H. Lujan
and Anita (Vigil) Rodriquez.
Jessica had a very spontaneous personality. She
enjoyed dancing, singing and playing the guitar, She enjoyed
being a mother and spending time with her kids and family.

Beard, age 64, of Andrews passed away on November 18, 2008 at her
residence. She was born on Thursday, March 16, 1944 to William
Baily and Marjorie Lou (Coker) Sanders in Crane, TX. Linda was
an avid traveler who enjoyed seeing new sights. She also
enjoyed quilting as a hobby. Her true love was studying
God’s Word and attending church at Means Memorial United Methodist
Church. Linda married Allen “Al” Beard on August 17, 1983
and they enjoyed twenty-five years together.
Linda is survived
by her husband: Al Beard of Andrews; three sons: Lonny
Marshall and wife Melinda of Kermit, Kent Beard and wife Karen of
Katy, TX, and Jeff Beard of Bryon, TX; one daughter: Carolyn

Lopez Sr., age 63, of Kermit passed from this life on Thursday,
November 27, 2008 at his residence. He was born, April 11, 1945 to
Francisco Lopez Jr. and Tomasa (Martinez) Lopez in Sanderson, TX.
Carlos was a very active man and served for years with the Wink
Volunteer Fire Department. He also enjoyed gardening, listening to
music and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Carlos is survived
by two sons: Carlos M. Lopez Jr. of Wink, TX, and James Jude Lopez
of San Antonio, TX.; one daughter: Sonia Carrasco and husband Abel
of San Antonio, TX.; three brothers: Jose Lopez of Jal, NM,
Robert Lopez of Kermit, TX, and Julian Lopez and wife Rufina of
Monahans, TX; two sisters: Toni L. Briones and husband Alonzo of
Kermit, TX and Drucela Madero and husband Gabriel of Del Rio, TX;
two grandchildren: Emillie Carrasco and Abel Carrasco II of San
Antonio, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding Carlos in
death were his parents: Francisco Jr. and Tomasa Lopez; and two
brothers: David Martinez and Francisco M. Lopez III.
