Guadalupe Armendariz
|
|
Guadalupe Garcia Armendariz, age 72, passed away Monday,
March 5, 2007 at Select Specialty Hospital in Midland, TX. She was born Wednesday, December 12, 1934 in Mexico to the
late Isidro and Herculana (Olivas) Garcia.
She married Antonio Armendariz in 1954 in Mulato, Mexico.
Together they raised eleven beautiful children.
They lived in Kermit for over 30 years.
After 52 happy years of marriage, he preceded her in death in
2006. Guadalupe was a
homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Those left behind to mourn the loss of Mrs. Armendariz
include three sons: Jose
Antonio Armendariz and Sabino Armendariz, both of Odessa and Armando
Armendariz of Kermit; six daughters:
Noelia Valenzuela of Midland, Silvia Porras of Ojinaga,
Mexico, Elvia Chavez, Leonila Gallardo, and Yesenia Ortiz, all of
Kermit, and Cindy Armendariz of Odessa; two sisters:
Elva Pando and Angelica Juarez both of Ojinaga, Mexico;
twenty-four grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents:
Isidro and Herculana Garcia, her beloved husband:
Antonio Armendariz, two daughters:
Arcilia and Arcelia Armendariz, one sister:
Elena Hernandez, and one brother:
Felix Garcia.
Rosary was said 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Family
Services Funeral Chapel. Mass
of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at
St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Father Rudy Lacerna.
Pallbearers will be Irvin Armendariz, Milo Valenzuela,
Armando Porras, Jr, Eddie Armendariz, Tony Lares, Eduardo Gallardo,
Adiel Armendariz, Oscar Ortiz, Jr., and Frank Lanbrano III.
Honorary pallbearers will include Jose Antonio Armendariz,
Armando Armendariz, and Sabino Armendariz.
Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.
Services were entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor.

Wilfred “Bill” Hoff
|
|
Wilfred “Bill” Hoff age 84 of Kermit
passed from this life on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at his Hospice House
of Odessa. He was born
July 14, 1922 in Emmeram, KS to Charles and Josephine Hoff.
Wilfred married Marian Nowak on May 22, 1950 in Gorham, KS. They raised three children.
He served his country in the US Army as Sergeant First Class
during World War II. He
was wounded in the Philippines in 1944 and also served in Hawaii and
New Guinea. Wilfred was
awarded a Purple Heart.
He was a resident of Kermit for 43 years and an usher at St.
Thomas Church for 25 years. He
worked for Texaco as a pumper, truck driver, and gang pusher
retiring in December of 1986 after 38 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife: Marian Hoff of Kermit; two sons:
Steven and Kevin Hoff, both of Kermit; one daughter:
Susan Hammond of Kermit; five granddaughters:
Sabrena Godaire, Melissa Turpin, Amanda Carey, Christina
Hammond and Reaganne Hoff; and one grandson:
Keith Hoff.
Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents:
Charles and Josephine Hoff; two brothers and one sister.
A prayer service will be 7:00 pm Thursday, March 8, 2007 at
Family Services Funeral Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Friday, March
9, 2007 at Saint Thomas Catholic Church with Father Rudy Lacerna
officiating. Pallbearers will include Ricando Rodriguez, Ramon Barriga,
Ray Bustamante, Thomas Bolf, Tommy Escamilla, and Adrian Bonilla.
Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery with full military
honors. Services are
entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor.

Angela Valenzuela
|
|
Angela Valenzuela, age 95, passed away Thursday, March 8,
2007 at the Kermit Healthcare Center in Kermit, TX. She was born Thursday, June 01, 1911 in Terlingua, TX to the
late Patrick and Erlinda (Olivas) Dominguez.
She married her late husband, Jesus Valenzuela in 1934 in
Mexico. Together they
raised six beautiful children. After
59 happy years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 1994.
Those left behind to mourn the loss of Mrs.
Valenzuela include two sons: Martin
Valenzuela of Kermit, TX and Lolo Valenzuela of Ft. Stockton, TX; four
daughters: Lupe Hernandez
and Enoe Valenzuela of Kermit, TX, Argentina Urias of Ft. Stockton,
TX, and Vicky Vasquez of Chihuahua, Mexico; one sister:
Lupe Lujan of Kermit, TX; twenty-seven grandchildren, fifty
three great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents:
Patrick and Erlinda Dominguez, and her beloved husband:
Jesus Valenzuela.
A Prayer Service was held 7:00 pm Sunday, March 11, 2007 at
Family Services Funeral Chapel. Funeral

2:00 pm Monday, March 12, 2007 at Family Services Funeral
Chapel officiated by Rev. Daniel Garces.
Pallbearers will be Fabian Hernandez, Beto Montoya, Erick
Lujan, Baldo Montoya, Jorge Valenzuela, and Jose Valenzuela. Honorary pallbearers will include Rafael Lujan and Uriel
Valenzuela. Interment
will follow at Kermit Cemetery.

Gertha Mae Hernandez, age 87, passed from this life
Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX.
She was born Sunday, August 31, 1919 in Corsicana, Navarro
County, TX to the late David and Mattie (Banks) Poole. She
obeyed the Lord at an early age.
She was one of eight children, five girls and three boys.
She married Carlos Hernandez in 1974 in Kermit.
She obeyed the Church of Christ under the late C.F. McGilbra.
Those left behind to mourn the loss of Mrs. Hernandez include
her husband: Carlos
Hernandez of Kermit; one granddaughter:
Shiryl Shaw of Kermit; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Gertha was preceded in death by her parents:
David and Mattie Poole, all seven of her siblings, and one
daughter: Shirley Jean
Rice.
A Wake will be held 6:30 to 9:00 pm Friday, March 16, 2007 at
Family Services Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 17, 2007 at
Westside Church of Christ, officiated by Brother Jodi Garrett. Pallbearers will be Mike Kilgore, Reginald Samples, Lonnie
Jones, Johnny Hernandez, Steven Sanchez, Israel Galindo, and Juan
Sanchez. Honorary
pallbearers will include Mark Galindo, Carlos Hernandez, Jr., Berry
Kilgore Jr., Clifford Smith, Robert Bearden, and Willie Moonie.
Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.

|
Braulio Vargas, age 19, of Kermit went to be
with his Lord on Monday, March 12, 2007.
He was born on Thursday, October 8, 1987 in San Jose, CA to
Gregorio and Marivel (Gonzales) Vargas.
Braulio was a 2006 graduate of Kermit High
School and was currently attending the University of Texas at El
Paso. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his
parents: Gregorio and
Marivel Vargas of Kermit; grandfather:
Steven Vargas of Jalisco, Mexico; his brother and sister:
Alejandro Vargas and Monica Vargas of Kermit; one uncle:

Alberto Lepe, Alejandro Vargas, Rojelio Lomeli, and Eddie Muniz.

Faye
Putman, age 83 passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Deerings
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Odessa, TX.
She was born Thursday, June 28, 1923 in Vanderpool, Texas to
Elbert Jefferson Smart and Erin (Marshall) Smart. She worked as a
waitress and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors
include her six sons: Mac
McNutt of San Antonio, TX, Lynn McNutt of Henderson, NV, Larry
Putman of San Antonio, TX, Steve McNutt of Kermit, TX, Tim Putman of
San Angelo, TX and Bruce Putman of Caldwell, TX; one sister:
Nada Garrett of Utopia, TX; and numerous grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents:
Elbert and Erin Smart and one brother:
E.J. Smart.
Funeral
Services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Family Services
Funeral Parlor in Kermit, TX with Pastor Joseph Mohler officiating.
Graveside Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, March 21, 2007
at Sabinal Cemetery in Sabinal, TX with Pastor Don Snyder
officiating. Interment
will follow graveside services at Sabinal Cemetery. Arrangements are
entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.

Miriam Deloris White, age 83, passed from this life
Saturday, March 24, 2007 at her residence in Wink, TX.
She was born Tuesday, January 8, 1924 in Orange, Orange
County, TX to the late Elmer Cecil and Stella (Edgerton) Bickerstaff.
She was one of thirteen children, six girls and seven boys.
She married Oliver Jordan in 1969. After thirty-six happy years together, “O.J. White”
preceded her in death August 4, 2005.
Those left behind to cherish the love and memory of Mrs.
White include her sons: James
Edward White of Odessa, Robert Lee White and John Delbert White,
both of Wink, Paul White and Cecil Allen White, both of Kermit; one
daughter: Martha Jo
Hoge and husband Ron of Kermit; four brothers; five sisters;
twenty-six grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren.
Miriam was preceded in death by her parents:
Elmer and Stella Bickerstaff; husband:
Oliver Jordan, one daughter:
Paula White; and three brothers.

27, 2007 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX. She was born Saturday, June 10, 1944 in Presidio, Texas to
Francisco and Santos Madrid. She
was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother.
Those left behind to mourn the loss of Mrs. Hernandez include

at La Iglesia Pentecostes La Hermosa.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 31,
2007 at La Iglesia Pentecostes La Hermosa, officiated by Noemi
Donato. Pallbearers include Rey Tavarez, Ray Venegas, Omar Saenz,
Ceasar Pando, Ernest Rodriguez, and Pete Garcia.

Charles Armon Bickle age 36 of Kermit passed away
unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 in a traffic accident.
He was born Thursday, November 5, 1970 in Kermit to A.H. and
Etola (Nix) Bickle. Charles
served his country in the US Navy for 15 years.
He was currently employed as a derrick hand in the oilfield.
He was a member of the Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife:

A.H. Bickle and wife Faith of Kermit; foster dad:
Jessie Paul Skinner of Pampa, TX; three sons:
Matthew Bickle, Austin Bickle, and Terry Reed; three
daughters: Jessica
Bickle, Angela Buchanan, and Deanna Reed; three brothers:
Carlton Bickle of Hong Kong, Ricci Bickle and Chad Bickle
both of Odessa; mother-in-law:
Shirley Holt of Kermit; three grandchildren: Seth, Haley, and Nicholas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother:
Etola Bickle and one brother:
Michael Bickle.

Edna Anderson, age 91, passed from this life Saturday, April
14, 2007 at her residence in Kermit, TX.
She was born Friday, April 7, 1916 in Stamford, TX to the
late Jarod and Mamie (Roberson) Johnson.
Edna had lived in Kermit for thirty years.
She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and camping.
She was a homemaker and a member of Belvue Baptist Church.
She married Henry Anderson in Anson, Texas in 1931.
After sixty happy years together, he preceded her in death
1991. She is also preceded in death by one son-in-law:
Clayton Day.
Those left behind to cherish the love and memory of Mrs.
Anderson include her son: Floyd
Anderson and wife Jeanne of Artesia, NM; one daughter:
Barbara Day of Kermit; five
grandchildren: Gary and
Judy Day, Cindy and Wayland Peterson, Bill and Kathy Day, Mike and
Tammy Anderson, and Marla and Hondo Schneider; eleven
great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, April 16, 2007 at
Belvue Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Gary Day assisted by
Brother Danny Fitzpatrick. Pallbearers will include
Mike Anderson, Bill Day, Hondo Schneider, Wayland Peterson, Jerry
Purcell, and Mitch Simms. Her great-grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers. Interment
will follow at Kermit Cemetery. Services
