Elias Ramos Valles |

Elias Ramos
Valles, age 42, went to sleep Thursday, June 1, 2006 in Kermit, TX.
He was born Wednesday, July 10, 1963 in El Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico
to Pedro Valles and the late Hermelinda (Ramos) Valles. He married
Nancy Morales on December 13, 1981 in Kermit.
Elias was the
best derrick hand in the oil field and worshipped at the Kingdom
Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed
traveling, especially out in the Big Bend area. He was a loving
husband, father, and grandfather with a huge heart. Elias was
always ready and willing to lend someone else a hand.
Those left
behind to mourn the loss of Mr. Valles include his wife, Nancy
Valles; two sons, Manuel Valles and Adrian Valles of Kermit; two
daughters, Moraima Bonilla and Adriana Valles of Kermit; his father,
Pedro Valles of El Mulato, Mexico; three brothers, Maurilio Valles
of Kermit, Samuel Valles of Kermit, and Gerardo Valles of Andrews,
TX; one sister, Lucinda Madrid of Lubbock; and one grandson, Eliseo
Bonilla. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hermelinda Ramos
Valles.
Services to
honor his memory were held 2:00 pm Monday, June 5 at Family Services
Funeral Chapel, officiated by Juan Lujan. Pallbearers were Maurilio
Valles, Gerardo Valles, Manuel Valles, Adrian Valles, Julio Valles,
and Adrian Bonilla. Interment followed at Kermit Cemetery. Services
were entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor.

Jesus “Chuy” Ruiz Juarez |

Jesus “Chuy” Ruiz
Juarez, age 55, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2006 at his residence
in Kermit, TX. He was born Saturday, July 1, 1950 in Ojinaga,
Chihuahua, Mexico to the late Pablo and Epigmenia (Ruiz) Juarez.
He married Rosa Saenz on January 28, 2000. He had been a Kermit
resident for 8 years.
Jesus was an
operator for Longhorn Well Service and had worked in the oilfield
all of his life. He was a work-a-holic, but enjoyed time out for
family gatherings; cooking barbeque, and spending some time with
those he loved. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Those left behind
to cherish his memory include his wife, Rosa Juarez of Kermit; his
step-mother, Aurora Juarez of Odessa, TX; two sons: Lorenzo Juarez
of Kermit and Leonardo Juarez of Monahans, TX; one step-son:
Antonio Salas of Odessa, TX; three daughters: Edith Quiroz of
Kermit, Veronica Sanchez of Kermit, and Maria Aguero of Denton, TX;
two step-daughters: Dalila Lopez of San Antonio, TX and Diana Salas
of Odessa, TX; nine brothers: Jose Juarez of Monahans, TX, Benito
Juarez of Ojinaga, Mexico, Santiago Juarez of Ojinaga, Mexico, Pablo
Juarez of Odessa, TX, Armando Juarez of Odessa, TX, Antonio Juarez
of Las Vegas, NV, J.R. Salinas of Monahans, TX, Arturo Salinas of
Kermit, TX, and Jose Luis Juarez of Las Vegas, NV; six sisters:
Juanita Rodriguez of Kermit, Francisca Porras of Kermit, Eloisa
Marquez of Odessa, Guadalupe Baeza of Muleshoe, TX, Maria Juarez of
Las Vegas, NV and Carmen Hernandez of Deming, NM; and twenty
grandchildren.
Rosary will be said
7:00 pm Wednesday June 7, 2006 at Family Services Funeral Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Thursday, June 8m 2006 at
St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kermit, officiated by Father Rudy
Lacerna. Pallbearers will be J.R. Salinas, Leonardo Juarez, Antonio
Salas, Ramiro Antillon, Joe Juarez, and Rudy Salinas. Interment
will follow at Kermit Cemetery. Services were entrusted to Family
Services Funeral Parlor.

Joan Warren |
|
Joan Warren, 64, of
Kermit, passed away at Winkler County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday,
June 06, 2006. She was born in Meridian, Mississippi on March 8,
1942 to the late Charlie and Maxine (Barrick) Dorman. Joan was
married to her late husband, Curtis Warren in September of 1956.
She was a longtime resident of Kermit and retired from the Kermit
School system where she worked at the Purple Sage Cafeteria for 15
years. Joan was a loving mother and grandmother. To her
grandchildren she was affectionately known as “Nana”. Joan loved
playing Bingo and was a member of the American Legion Women’s
Auxiliary.
Joan is survived by
one son: Richard Warren and wife Lou of Kermit, TX; two daughters:
Rita Bons of Kermit, TX; Linda Warren of Odessa, TX; one
daughter-in-law: Sheila Harding of Kermit, TX; one brother:
Charlie Dorman of Philadelphia, MS; five sisters: Susie LaLonde of
Kermit, TX; Martha Tucker of Odessa, TX; Jean Foxworth of Jackson,
MS; Lurline Russell of Philadelphia, MS; Linda Brown of
Philadelphia, MS; two step-sisters: Bettie Collins of Marble Falls,
TX; Dottie Paschal Warren of Maryland; seven grandchildren: Shawn,
Brittany, Valerie, Shana, Stephanie, Oscar, Diego, and Amber; one
great-grandchild: Karime.
Preceding Joan in
death are her husband: Curtis Warren; one son: Curt Warren; one
daughter: Nancy Jo Warren; and one sister: Bessie Page.
Services will be
held Friday, June 9, 2006 at 10:00 am at Family Services Funeral
Parlor with Brother Stanley Hufty officiating. Interment will
follow at Kermit Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Steele, Johnny
LaLonde, Bo Dorman, Richard Warren, Shane Cowley, Archie Crossland,
and Oscar Gutierrez III. Arrangements are entrusted to Family
Services Funeral Parlor.

Donald
Wayne Diller, age 52, of Kermit, passed away June 06, 2006 at his
residence. He was born March 01, 1954 in Abilene, Texas.
A home
constructor, he leaves behind his wife, Rita Diller of Kermit, his
father, Bill Diller also of Kermit, one son Jesse Diller
of Colorado, one brother, J.D. Diller of Linville, NC, one sister,
Angie Diller of Lubbock and one grandchild, Jarrod Jedadiah Diller
Funeral Service was held at
4:00 pm, Thursday, June 08, 2006 at Family Services Funeral
Chapel of Kermit with Brother Dudley Mullins officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of
Kermit.

Louise Norcross

Louise Norcross
Wheat passed away on Thursday, June 1 at 3:00 PM in Wichita Falls,
Texas. She was born on November 14, 1917 in Ozona, Texas. She was
the third child of Oscar Norcross and Thalia Brown, a rancher in
that area. She graduated from Our Lady, Queen of Peace High School
in Dallas and then attended Odessa College obtaining a degree in
cost accounting. Louise married Alden Rogers, a prominent
businessman in Odessa. They had one child, Scooter, who passed away
at an early age.
On June 15 of 1956,
she married James Jackson Wheat, a rancher in Mentone, Texas. They
had one daughter, Joy and later adopted a son, Stoney. They resided
in Pecos prior to moving to Kermit. Louise was an active member of
the First Christian Church and both country clubs. Golf, bridge,
and traveling with Jim kept her fully occupied. She was a member of
the Texas Art Alliance. Following Jim’s death in 1989, she moved to
their home in Alto, New Mexico where she continued her activities.
Her mother, Thalia Brown; father, Oscar Norcross; husband, Jim
Wheat; daughter, Joy Wheat Williams; son, Stoney Wheat; and
brothers, Tom Norcross and Lendsea Norcross preceded her in death.
Her two grandsons, James Jackson Wheat Williams and Thomas Robert
Williams of Wichita Falls, Texas survive her. Her sister Jana Vee
Cintron resides in California. Aline DeNoyer, her youngest sister,
lives in Oregon. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews,
great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as her immediate family and
friends.
Memorial
services in honor of Louise’s memory will be held 2:00 pm Monday,
June 12, 2006 at Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit, Texas.
The family suggests memorials be made to either the Alzheimer’s
Foundation or the First Christian Church of Ruidoso, New Mexico.

Jesse Calvin “J. C.” Adams

Jesse Calvin “J.
C.” Adams, 42, resident of Wink, Texas left this life on Saturday,
June 17, 2006. He entered this life in Kermit, Texas on Saturday,
June 13, 1964, the son of Tom and Judy Elaine (Hopkins) Adams. He
wed Teresa Tarr on November 29, 1996. He was an oilfield truck
driver for Rapid Transport.
Those left behind
to cherish his love and memories include his wife, Teresa Adams of
Wink, TX; his mother, Judy Adams of Kermit, TX; his step-sons:
Derek Tarr and Jimmy Eastep both of Wink, TX; his daughters:
Jesseca Adams, Kimberly Adams, and Samantha Adams, all of Cisco, TX;
one step-daughter: Kayla Eastep of Wink, TX; one brother: Charles
Adams of Kermit; and one grandson: Iver Chavez.
J.C. was preceded
in death by his father, Tom Adams; his sister: Dana Browder; his
aunt: Jane Crawford; and his grandma: Lillie Nordman Hopkins.
Memorial
services for J.C. were held 10:00 am Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at
Family Services Funeral Chapel with The Reverend Henry Freund
officiating. Services were entrusted to Family Services Funeral
Parlor of Kermit.

Perrie D. Rockwell |
Perrie D.
Rockwell, age 86, of Kermit went to be with her Lord Wednesday, June
14, 2006. She was born Saturday, March 13, 1920 to the late Lucy
Skinner in Ore City, Texas. She married Will Rockwell in July of
1938. Perrie was a homemaker and a member of Faith Missionary
Baptist Church.
Perrie was a very
involved in church activities and served as president of the Mission
Board of Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed taking care of
her home and family; cooking, sewing, and gardening. She was also
an avid sports fan.
Those left to
cherish her love and memories are two sons- Johnny Rockwell of
Albuquerque, NM and Willie Rockwell of Irving, TX; two daughters-
Lorna Davis of Kermit, TX and Tami Whiteside of Dallas, TX; one
sister- Catherine Nolley of Kermit, TX; nine grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
Perrie was preceded
in death by her husband, Will Rockwell, her mother-Lucy Skinner, two
brothers- Booker T. Skinner and Hugh D Skinner, one sister- Sue Bell
Smith.
Funeral services
were 2 pm Monday, June 19, 2006 at Faith Missionary Baptist Church
in Kermit with Rev. Hamilton Bowens, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers
were: Jonathan Rockwell, Isaac Rockwell, James Nolley, Venshard
Dobbins, Kale Dobbins, and Thomas J. Solomon. Interment followed at
Kermit Cemetery.
The family requests
that memorials be made to Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 112 S.
Maple, Kermit, TX 79745 or The American Cancer Society, PO Box
102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454, (or call 1-800-ACS-2345).
Arrangements were entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of
Kermit.

Elmo H. Glass |

Elmo H. Glass, age
94 of Kermit passed from this life on Saturday, June 17, 2006. He
was born Wednesday, September 20, 1911 in Mt. Vernon, Texas to the
late Harold and Junie (Davis) Glass. He graduated from Mt. Vernon
High and then went on to college at East Texas State Teacher College
Commerce. He married Inez Cain in 1935. She preceded him in death
in 1984.
Mr. Glass was a
resident of Kermit for the last 68 years. He was a very active
community leader, and was a member of the Kermit Downtown Lions Club
for 60 years. He was a past Lions president, a 60 year member of
the Kermit Lodge #1258. A.F. & A.M. and was a longtime Shriner. He
was also an energetic outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting deer, elk,
and turkey. He was a sportsman who played golf, bowled, and rode
horses.
He is survived by
his daughter: Rena Biggs and husband, Jim, of Lampasas, TX; two
grandchildren: Scott Biggs of Dallas, TX and Tracey Bitner and
husband, Jay of Rowlett, TX; and two great-grandchildren: Reagan
Bitner of Rowlett, TX and Nathan Bitner of Rowlett, TX.
Services were held
at First Baptist Church of Kermit on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 2:00
pm with Brother Dudley Mullins officiating. Pallbearers included:
Jerry Fullen, Bill White, “Jr.” Chapman, Jim Mayberry, Gene Paschal,
and Gerald Speed. Interment followed at Kermit Cemetery.
Arrangements
were entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.

Timothy Charles Carroll |

Timothy Charles
Carroll, age 32, formerly of Wink, Texas, passed away Saturday, June
10, 2006 at his residence in Marlow, Oklahoma. He was born June 5,
1974 in Dallas, Texas to Charles and Dorothy (Sieck) Carroll.
Timothy was an HVAC
technician and had lived in Oklahoma for 7 1/2 years. He was a
member of the Church of Christ. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed
spending time on the lake, riding jet skis, and horseback riding.
He also spent his spare time playing video games with the boys.
Timothy is survived
by his wife, Becky (Turner) Carroll of Marlow; his father, Charlie
Carroll and wife, Nona of Wink, TX; two sons, Billy Johnson and
David Johnson of Marlow, OK; one daughter, Hailee Carroll of Marlow,
OK; two brothers, David Carroll of Concord, CA and Danny Carroll of
Victoria, TX; and one sister, Diana Mendez of Odessa, TX.
Timothy was
preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Carroll.
Memorial services
to honor Timmy’s memory will be held 11:00 am Thursday, June 15,
2006 at Family Services Funeral Chapel with Brother Tommy Williamson
officiating.
Services are
entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.

Socorro T. Borunda,
82, resident of Kermit, TX, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June
19, 2006. Socorro was born in Satero, Chihuahua, Mexico to the late
Francisco Borunda and Maria De Refuio Tarango.
Socorro is survived
by one son: Socorro Bournda Jr. of Kermit; one daughter: Susie
Villa of Odessa; one sister: Maria De Los Angeles Melendez of
Andrews; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
Mass of Christian
Burial will be held Friday, June 23, 2006 at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph
Catholic Church with Father Rudy Lacerna officiating.
Rosary will be
said at Family Services Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at
7:00 pm. Interment will be at Kermit Cemetery.
Services were
entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.
