Austria “Chee Chee”
Pryor, long time resident of Kermit, passed from this world Friday,
October 22,
2004 at Hospice Midland Inpatient Unit at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Chee Chee
was the eldest of twelve children born to the late Emanuel and Essie
(Lockhart)
Pryor. He was born Monday, January 08, 1917 in Grosebeck, Limestone
County,
Texas.
Chee
Chee and Mayola
Hunter were united in Holy Matrimony in 1968 in Monahans. They settled
in
Kermit in the early 1940’s, where he took a job as a Service Station
attendant
until his retirement in 1978. Together, he and Mayola enjoyed 34
wonderful
years of marriage before her death on May 26, 1992.
Chee
Chee loved to
spread the Word of God and was a Deacon and member of the Faith
Missionary Baptist
Church.
He
is survived by
five Daughters: Lois Marie Pryor of Kermit, Edna Pryor of Fort Worth,
Debra
Pryor of Kermit, Juanita Pryor of Odessa and Earnestine Walker and
husband,
Vincent, of Fort Worth; one Son: Bobby Ray Pryor of Dallas; eight
Grandchildren:
Erma and Marlon Baker, Porchia and Anthony Brazell, Brandon Arnsworth
and
Diandria, Christopher and Jamari Walker. He is also survived by one
Brother-In-Law: Raymond Hunter of Frederick, Okla; four Sister-In-Laws:
Stella
Franklin of Stamford, Texas, Vivian Pryor of Abilene, Texas, Cleadell
Pryor of
San Bernadino, Calif and Erma Lee Wooden of Barin Center, Michigan and
numerous
nieces and nephews.
He
is also preceded
in death by five Brothers, Emanuel Pryor, James Pryor, Aubrey Pryor,
Hubert
Pryor and Melvin Pryor and six Sisters, Essie M Pryor, Serrena Harris,
Rodgie
Mae Bass-Wortham, Freddie Lee Rockwell, Della Mae Thomas and Eliza
Patterson.
Funeral
Service is
scheduled for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Faith Baptist
Missionary
Church with Reverend H. A. Bowens officiating. Interment will follow at
Kermit
Cemetery.
Pallbearers
are James
Patterson, Sonny Pryor, Michael Pryor, James Walker, Billy Thompson and
Chris
Walker. Honorary Pallbearers are the Faith Missionary Baptist Church
Brotherhood.
In lieu of flowers, the

Jose Angel “Chachi”
Chavez, age 35, a lifelong resident of Kermit, departed this life
Saturday,
October 23, 2004, in Kermit, Texas. Jose
was born to Angel and Maria (Martinez) Chavez,
Saturday, February
15, 1969, in Kermit, Texas.
Jose
worked as a
roughneck and was employed by Nabors Drilling, Inc, LP.
He was a people person and enjoyed spending
time with friends and family. Among his
hobbies, Jose loved spending time with his daughters, BBQing, fishing
and just
hanging out with his many friends.

left to cherish
Jose’s love and memories are his Two Daughters, Allanah Gabrielle
Chavez, Ariel
Whitney Chavez and their mother, Tonya, all of San Antonio, Texas;
Mother,
Maria Luisa Martinez of Midland, Texas; his Father and Step Mother,
Angel
Chavez and Nena, of Kermit, Texas; Two Brothers, Luis Chavez of Kermit,
Texas
and Ariel Chavez of Dallas, Texas; Three Sisters, Sonia Berzoza of
Gardendale,
Texas, Ana Johnson and Lorena Arguijo, both of Dallas, Texas. Nieces, Stephanie, Sarah, Sydney, Samantha
and Isabel; Nephews, Derek, Taylor, John, Ryan and Matthew; Great-niece
Bailey
and Great-nephew Matthew.
He
is preceded in
death by his Abuelita, Tomasa Alarcon Saenz.
We
will miss your
wonderful smile and great sense of humor including all your jokes. We wish you could have remained with us but
we know that God’s plan is beyond our comprehension; we will remain
faithful
and will see you once again. Thank you
Chachi for your love, your friendship, and your caring heart. We are so grateful for your precious
daughters whom we will love and cherish forever.

Restaurant Manager, she was hard working, always trying hard to help

partner, always happy and very optimistic.

Jesus Garcia
Olvera, lifetime resident of Marathon passed away Friday, November 5,
2004 at
Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born Tuesday, November 1,
1955, in
Marathon to the late Longino H and Antonia (Garcia) Olvera. He was 49.
Angel married Maria
Pineda on December 26, 1975 in Kermit. He was a member of St Mary's
Catholic
Church and the Knights of Columbus. Angel was the life of the party and
a best
friend and Dad to everyone. He loved to Bar-B-Que and was a devoted
Miami Dolphin
football fan. He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a
Mail
Carrier in Marathon for eight years.

20, 2004 in Odessa, TX.
He is also survived by two sisters, Christina Santiago and Bernadette Santiago
both of Odessa; his maternal grandparents, Pedro and Cruz Garcia of
Kermit and his paternal Grandmother, Consuelo Santiago of El Paso.
Graveside services were held at 2:30 pm, Monday, November 22, 2004 at
Kermit Cemetery with Father Rudy Lacerna as Celebrant.

age 72, of Kermit passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at his
residence. He
was born on Saturday, April 9, 1932, in Pampa, Texas.
Mr.
Farmer served in
the Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a retired Roughneck.
He
is survived by one

lifetime resident of Kermit, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2004 at
Winkler
County Memorial Hospital. She was born Wednesday, March 18, 1959, in
Big
Spring, Howard County, Texas to the late Joe Wilson and Edith Margaret
(Walley)
Phillips. She was 45.
A homemaker, Vicky
liked reading romance novels and hanging out with her friends and loved
the
sport of Volleyball. She married Carl Fason in the Summer of 1989.

her love and memories are one Son, Michael Joseph Fason of Kermit;
three
Daughters, Tiffony Nicole Fason, Sonya Marie Ruiz, Jessica Rae Ruiz all
of

Basilia
(Hernandez) Garcia, age 81, a lifelong resident, went to be with her
Lord,
Saturday, November 27, 2004 at her residence in Kermit, TX. Basilia was
born on
Thursday, June 14, 1923, in Patrole, Texas, to the late Sabas Hernandez
and
Refugia Pallanez.
She was united in
holy matrimony to Juan "Pee Wee" Garcia on June 26, 1943 in Pecos,
Texas. Basilia and Juan were married 34
years. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Basilia enjoyed many varieties in life. She loved listening to mariachi music,
flowers and visiting the elderly. Above
all, her greatest love was her family and spending time with her
grandchildren.
Basilia attended St.
Joseph Catholic Church and was a member of Crusiesta De Colores.

Manuel Herbey Urias,
age 43, of Kermit, TX, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, November 30,
2004, at
Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, TX. Manuel
had been a resident of Kermit for 23 years,
moving here from Ojinaga,
Mexico.
Manuel
entered this
life on Thursday, September 14, 1961, in Ojinaga, Mexico, being born to
the
late Jesus Urias and Emma Saenz. He was
united in Holy Matrimony to Bertha Muniz on September 02, 1981 in
Kermit, TX. Manuel was a member and
attended Eastside Church
Of Christ.
Manuel
was a
Carpenter by trade, also installing Carpet. He
was a very loving husband, father and grandfather
who loved spending
time with his family. Among his many
likes and hobbies, Manuel loved to go camping and fishing.
Manuel also loved to sing, bringing
enjoyment to his family and friends.
Those

Louis Vern Hadley, Jr

Louis
V. Hadley, Jr.,
age 77, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, December 02, 2004 at his
residence
in Wink, Texas. Louis entered this Life
on Wednesday, May 18, 1927 to the late Louis V. Hadley and Jessie
(Hickson)
Hadley. He was born in Borger,
Hutchinson County, Texas. Louis had
been a resident of Wink for 40 years, having moved to Wink from the
Guadalupe
Mountains.
Louis was united in
Holy Matrimony to Bettie Jean Watson on December 27, 1947 in Las Vegas,
Nevada. Louis and Jean shared 57
wonderful years of marriage. He was a
very loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time
with his
family.
Louis was a Veteran
of World War II and had served proudly in the United States Navy. He was an endowed member of Kermit Lodge
#1258 AF&AM, being raised to the degree of Master Mason on October
25,
1956. Louis was a past Master of Wink
Lodge, had served as a District Deputy Grand Master and was a 32nd
Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was also
a member of VFW Post 6284, had served on Winkler County Appraisal
District, and
was a member of 1st Methodist Church in Wink, where he had
served on
the Board as well as take care of all maintenance of the church. Louis and Jean were avid travelers and were
members of the Hi – Lo Tejas Travel Club and had many friends all over
the US. He retired from
Chevron Pipeline as a Supervisor after 33 years of service.

Louis’ loving memory are his wife, Jean Hadley of Wink, Texas; One Son
– Jerry
Hadley and wife, Janet of Bremond, Texas; One Daughter – Kaye Frazier
and
husband, Larry of Levelland, Texas; Six Grandchildren – Karen Box;

II. Louis is also survived by Four

Jerry Lee McMillan

Jerry
Lee McMillan
age 61 of Wink, TX, passed away Monday, December 6, 2004 at his
residence. He was born Friday, September
17, 1943 in
Wink, Texas to the late Earl G. and Kathlyne (Freeman) McMillan, and
was a life
long resident of Winkler County.
Jerry was raised in
Wink and was a center for the Wink Wildcats during his high school
years. After
graduating from Wink High School in1962, he married Sharon Daniels in
1967 in
Wink. Together they had 37 wonderful years of marriage and raised two
wonderful
children. They attended Baptist Temple Church in Kermit.
Jerry made a living
in the oil patch as a roughneck, later becoming the City of Wink Water
Superintendent for 13 years. He was well respected by his co-workers
for his
hard work and ability to master any task that was given to him. Jerry
loved his
job and those who worked with him knew he put his heart and soul into
it.
Jerry was a loving
husband and father. He supported his wife in everything she did,
especially
when she became and EMT. He loved spending time with his children and
grandchildren and fishing was their favorite pastime. Above all, Jerry
was a
Christian and loved the Lord very much. He knew his life, as well as
his death,
was in God’s hands.
Those left behind to
cherish his love and memories are his wife, Sharon McMillan of Wink,
one Son,
Chris McMillan and wife, Denise, of Kermit, one Daughter, Wanda Blakely
and
husband, John, of Garland, Texas, two Brothers Donnie McMillan and

Roundtree, lifetime resident of Wink passed away Sunday, December 19,
2004. He
was born Wednesday, July 16, 1986 in Monahans to Michael Roundtree and
Kay
(Sifford) Thomas. He was a Baptist.
Nicholas graduated
from Hondo Independent School District in 2003. He had a love for dirt
bikes,
skateboards and football. But most of all, he loved his family and
friends.
Nicholas was employed as an electrician’s helper.

L. K. "Lon" Steward

Loren Keller
"Lon" Steward, longtime resident of Kermit, went to be with the Lord
on Wednesday, December 23, 2004 at Hospice House of Odessa. Lon was
born
Sunday, January 9, 1927, in Neodesha, Kansas, to the late John E. and
Anna W.
(Keller) Steward. He had been a resident of Kermit since 1964 and was
77 years
old.
Lon
graduated high
school in 1944 in Olpe, Kansas, before attending Colver Stockton
College. He
was drafted into the United States Army in May of 1946. Lon married
Faye Cronk
on December 4, 1971, in Kermit. He retired from Enron as a Gas
Measurement
Technician in 1989 after 43 years of service in the oil and gas
industry.
Lon
was a member of
the Evening Lions Club and was a past City Council member. He was
instrumental
in the foundation of the past Boy's Club of Kermit. A lover of the
outdoors,
Lon enjoyed playing a round of golf, fishing, camping and an occasional
remote
control airplane. He was good with his hands, so good in fact, that he
concreted the entire backyard around the play set and eventually over
the
girl's sandbox. His idea of getting rid of a gopher was to cover it
with
concrete!
Those
left to cherish
his love and memories are his wife Faye Steward of Kermit; his
mother-in-law
Melvina Cronk of Kermit; two daughters, Vicki Arpad and husband
Christopher of
Los Angeles, California, and Cindy Steward of Little Elm, Texas; two
sons, John
Steward and wife Allyson of McKinney, Texas, and Eric Butler and wife,
Angi of
Lubbock, Texas; one sister, Betty Woods of Houston, Texas; five
grandchildren,
Adam Cade Butler, Gina McKevitt, Kyle Shaw, Joseph Lippert and Taylor
Steward;
and four grandchildren, Kurtis, Kyla, Abigail and Beau McKevitt.
He
was also preceded
in death by two sons, Jeffry Steward and Adam Kyle Butler.
Private
Memorial
Services were held at Family Services Funeral Parlor on Sunday,
December 26,
2004.
In
lieu of flowers
donations may be made to Hospice House – 903 N. Sam Houston,
Odessa, Texas 79761. Arrangements are
entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.
