| Joyce Jean Dingler |
Joyce Jean Dingler,
age 76, formerly of Kermit, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2004, at
her
residence in Dallas. Mrs. Dingler was
born on Saturday, October 22, 1927 in Lelia Lake, Texas to the late
Rufus Elmer
and Josie Clara (Johnston) Holman. Mrs. Dingler had been a Kermit
resident for
34 years before moving to Dallas in 1997.
Joyce
was a
homemaker. She married Richard R. Dingler on June 28, 1947 in
Clarendon, Texas.
Richard preceded her in death on March 26, 1991. Together they were
blessed
with over 44 years of marriage.
Survivors
include her
daughters: Robbie Dunn of Pampa, TX; Dana Peña of Kermit, and
Linda Baker of
Monahans; her sons: Larry Dingler of Dallas, TX and Richard Dingler of
Plano,
TX; her sister, Earline and husband Stan Howard of Nashville, AR; and
two
nephews: Eddie Howard of Kermit and
Ronnie Howard of Monahans. She has
eight grandchildren: Michael Esparza,
Dusty Esparza, Zachery Dingler, Jess Baker, Joshua Baker, Jacob
Peña, Brianna
Peña, Daysha Deerinwater; and five great-grandchildren.
Joyce
was laid to
rest during graveside services at Kermit Cemetery, Saturday, January 3rd
at
2:00 pm with Pastor Gene Canon officiating. Her grandsons were
pallbearers and
honorary pallbearers were her granddaughters. Arrangements
were entrusted to Family Services
Funeral Parlor of Kermit.

Barker |
Edith Barker, age 90
and a long time resident of Kermit, went to be with her Lord on
Tuesday,
January 06, 2004. She was born Tuesday, July 08, 1913, in Lee County,
Texas to
John W. and Nayoma (Snowden) Fisher. She married the love of her life,
Jodie
Gibson Barker on May 11, 1935, in Colorado City, Texas and settled in
Kermit.
Jodie preceded her in death in 1992.
Not
one to lie
around, Edith was an active member of the Garden Club Of Kermit, a Cub
Scouts
Den Mother, Medallion Home Hostess, and an avid fisherman. She was a
member of
the Community Church.
She
will be
remembered with love by her Son: Jodie Barker and wife, Judy, of
Kermit, Texas;
one Granddaughter: Dreama Dean and husband, Richard, of Lubbock, Texas;
and one
Great Granddaughter: Tori Dean of Lubbock, Texas.
Edith
was also
preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers
are Jeff
LaJoie, Mike Emerson, Dan Desilets, Sammy Cates, Socorro Borrunda and
Rex Law.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Roy Peden, Robert Conyer, Bo Gunter and
Ronnie
Gunter.
Funeral
Services are
scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 08, 2004 at Community Church
with
Reverend Henry Freund officiating. Interment will follow at Kermit
Cemetery.

"Dee" Pierce |
Dorothy Mae
"Dee" Pierce, age 84, of Kermit, passed away on Wednesday, January 7,
2004 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX. She was born Friday,
December
19, 1919, in Ida Grove, Iowa to Joseph Elmer and Lillian (Poindexter)
White.
Dee married Thurman Lee on December 21, 1940 in Tipton, Indiana.
She
and her husband,
Thurman, moved to Kermit in 1981, after retiring as Legal Assistant for
20
years with Latham and Watkins Law Firm in Los Angeles, California. She
was a
member of Grace Temple Baptist Church.
She
will be lovingly
remembered by her Husband: Thurman Lee Pierce of Kermit, Texas; Three
Sons:
Gary Pierce, Philip Pierce and Richard Pierce all of Tucson, Arizona;
Eight
Grandchildren; Seventeen Great-Grandchildren and One Great-Great
Grandchild.
Dee
was also preceded
in death by One Brother and Three Sisters.
Funeral
Services are
scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2003 at Grace Temple
Baptist
Church with Pastor Gordon Oglesby officiating. Interment will follow at
a later
date at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona. Arrangements are

25, of Kermit, departed this life
Monday, January 12, 2004. He was born Wednesday, January 18, 1978, in
Odessa,
TX to Johnny and Cindy Davis of Kermit, Texas. Monty moved to Kermit in
1998,
having moved here from Queen City, TX. He attended Queen City public
schools
having graduated from Queen City High in 1997.
He was employed with
Winkler County Road and Bridge Crew.

Lewis Ervin Redwine
age 90, a long time resident of Winkler County went home to be with his
Lord on
Friday, January 23, 2004. Lewis moved
to Wink with his family in 1936, and was a resident of Kermit and Wink
for 68
years. He was born on Wednesday
April
16, 1913 in Burkburnett, Texas to Ervin and Ruth (Parsons) Redwine. Lewis graduated from Graham High School,
Graham, OK on May 22, 1930. He met and married Marie (Odom) Redwine on
April 5,
1947 in Kermit and they were married for 56 wonderful years.
Being
a Veteran of
World War II, he served with The 122nd SRI Company and Detachment in
North
Africa and Italy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a
member of
The Kermit Lodge No. 1258 A.F.& A.M.
Lewis
had been
retired from the United States Postal Service for Twenty years and from
Winkler
County for Ten years. He was also
employed for many years with Griffith and Video Independent Theatre.
He
was preceded in
death by his parents Ervin and Ruth Redwine, two sisters, a niece,
nephew and
great nephew.
Lewis
is survived by
his wife Marie Redwine of Kermit, TX; Two Sons, William Redwine and
wife Naomi
of Huber Heights, OH and Gary Redwine and wife Ann of Midland, TX; One
sister,
Ethel Donaho of Arlington, TX; Four grand-daughters, Katrina, Sabrena
and
Christina Redwine all of Huber Heights, OH and Courtney Redwine of
Midland, TX;
Step grandson and granddaughter, Matthew Dennis and Maria Dennis both
of Huber
Heights, OH; One Aunt, Effie Mae Lyon of Tulsa, OK; and Claire Bramlett
of
Vernon, TX.
Services
are
scheduled Monday, January 26, 2004 at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist
Church in
Kermit, with Pastor Randy Houston officiating, assisted by Pastor
Dudley
Mullins. Visitation will be held
Wednesday January 28, 2004 at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home, 205 Bay
Street,
from 5-7:30 pm, in Hattiesburg, MS. Graveside service will be Thursday,
January
29, 2004 at 11:00 am at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS., with
full
military honors.

Patricia Florence
Ritter, age 51, departed this life Sunday, January 25, 2004 at her
residence in
Kermit. She was born Saturday, March
22, 1952 in Queens Village, NY, to Arthur and Patricia Kearney
Schubert. Patricia
was a homemaker and active as a Leader for Girl Scout Troop 294 for
over 16
years.
Patricia
had many
hobbies to keep her busy, she especially enjoyed Crocheting along with
various
Arts and Crafts and shopping.
Those
left to cherish
her memory and love are one son, Sean Ritter of Kermit; two daughters,
Kelly
Ritter of Odessa and Rhonda Ritter of Kermit; her Mother, Patricia
Schuber of
Kermit; Six Sisters, Debbie Schubert of Odessa, TX, Linda Sarver of

Martha Meinzer Floyd,
age 83, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004 at Manor Park in Midland.
She was
born Sunday, February 15, 1920 in Breckenridge, TX to the late Stoke
and Lottie
(Martin) Hamil.
Martha
was a member
of the Christian Church and an Honorary Life Member of Ranchland Hills
W.G.A.
Association. She was a homemaker and resident of Midland for 44 years,
having
moved there from Odessa.
Those
left to cherish
her memory are One son: Larry Meinzer of Cresson, TX; One daughter:
Brenda
Meinzer Gray, and husband Jerry of Dallas, TX; One Sister: Juanita
Stewart of

J. P. Holsey, age 80
of Kermit, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004 at his home. He was
born
Friday, August 3, 1923 in Mountain Park, Kiowa County, Oklahoma to the
late
Joseph Preston and Sara Jane (Webster) Holsey.
In
1942, JP enlisted
in the US Navy during WWII until his discharge in 1945. He married
Wanda Lee
Barbee on September 13, 1944 in Merkel, TX. During that year, they
moved to Red
Bluff Lake where he began his career with El Paso Natural Gas before
relocating
to Jal, NM in 1953. He retired as Welding Superintendent in 1983. JP
and Wanda
then settled in Kermit in 1993.JP was also a member of the American
Legion Post
339 and the VFW Post 6284.
Those
left behind to
cherish his love and memories are his wife, Wanda Holsey of Kermit; two
sons,
Ronnie Holsey and wife, Jan, of Andrews, TX, Billy Holsey and wife,
Pam, of Ft
Worth, TX; one daughter, Gail Tidwell of Kermit, TX; one sister, Betty
Truly of
Louisville, KY; five grandchildren, Stephanie Lynch, Jason Holsey, Amy
Tidwell,
Brandi Lewis and Stephen Tidwell; three Great Grandchildren, Hunter and

He

| Ernestine Washington |
Ernestine Washington,
age 66, of Kermit, went to be with her Lord Monday, February 2, 2004.
She was
born April 15, 1937 to the late Archie and Lucille Jackson in Eureka,
Texas.
She was one of eight children.
Ernestine had been a
resident of Kermit since 1988 having
moved here from Denver, Colorado. She was a retired CNA for Home Health
Care.
Ernestine
was a faithful member of the Faith
Baptist Church, she was a Sunday School Teacher and and a member of the
Mission
Society at Faith Baptist. Ernestine was
an excellent cook and she loved to shop, she was very caring, loving
and
dedicated to her family, there was nothing she enjoyed more than being
with her
loved ones. She had a great sense of
humor and loved picking on her brother in law, Vaughn Glover.
Ernestine is survived
by; three daughters, Deloris Brown of Abilene, TX, Shirley Davis of
Kermit and
Mary Brown of North Carolina; two sisters, Helen Glover and Williadean
Parker
both of Kermit; one brother, Cornelius Oats of Kermit; twelve
grandchildren and
seventeen great-grandchildren.
She
is preceded in
death by her parents, Four brothers, R.C. Jackson, Albert Jackson,
Coatis Oats
and McKinnley Oats.
Services
will be at
Faith Baptist Church, Friday, Febuary 6, 2004 at 1:00 pm, with Reverend
H.A.
Bowens officiating, Interment to follow at Kermit Cemetery. Pallbearers
will
be; DeShawn Johnson, Anthony Glover, Michael Oats, Albert McElroy,
Vaughn

Jack Edward Palmer, age 75, of Odessa,
departed this life Saturday, February 21, 2004, at Medical Center
Hospital. He was born Monday, May 21, 1928, in Westbrook,
Mitchell County, TX, to the late Delores Hart and Bennie Lawrence
Palmer.
Jack was a resident
Lincoln Tower in Odessa for 10 years, having moved there from Jal, NM,
where he had lived and worked for 50 years. He retired as a Plant
Operator from El Paso Natural Gas with 41 years of service.
Those left to cherish and
remember his love are his brothers: Larry Palmer and wife,
Janice, of Odessa; and Leroy Palmer and wife, Jackie, of San
Angelo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services are
scheduled for 11:00 am, Monday, February 23, 2004, at Lincoln Tower, in
Odessa. Graveside Services will follow at 4:00 pm, Monday, February 23,
2004, at Westbrook Cemetery with Brother Ted Short officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Family

Pat M. Dudley, age 76, of Wink, went
to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Home Hospice
House in Odessa. He was born Tuesday, May 3, 1927, in Whiteflats,
TX to Claude Ernestine Dooly and Jesse Milton Dudley.
Pat married Eunice Pearl
Blair on December 24, 1944 in Trent, Texas. They had over 50 wonderful
years of marriage when she preceded him in death on August 2, 1997.
They were residents of Wink for 40 years having moved there from Odessa
in 1964. Pat retired from Winkler County as an Equipment Operator after
25 years of service. He was a Baptist
Pat was enducted into the
US Army on June 20, 1945, just 6 months after his marriage. He
completed his tour of duty and was Honorably Discharged on July 11,
1946.
A loving Father,
Grandfather and Friend, he leaves behind to cherish his memory two
Sons: Gary Dudley and wife, Babara, of Wink; James Dudley and wife,
Cheryl, of Artesia, NM, two Daughters: Judy Redwood and husband, Gary,
of Tulsa, Okla; Linda Ferguson and husband, Bobby, of Lumberton, Texas,
five Grandchildren: Kimberly Gilliam, Cara Boyce, Jeff Dudley, Robert
Ferguson, Blake Ferguson, Zach Redwood and eight Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral Service were held
2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at Family Services Funeral Chapel
with Reverend Beth Harrington officiating. Interment followed at Kermit
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff Dudley, Robert Ferguson, Blake
Ferguson, Zach Redwood, Wade Gilliam, Phil Dudley and Clifton King

72 of Kermit, Texas passed away Thursday, February 26, 2004, at Kermit
Healthcare Center. Ellen was born to Peter and Julia (Gina) Lung, on
Wednesday,
February 3, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a Homemaker and resident
of
Kermit.
She
is survived by
one brother, Ronald W. Lung of Cypress, California; and one sister,
Sheila
Shutts of Bullhead City, Arizona.

Janet Warren, 63 ,of 229 Van Street,
Kermit, TX 79745, Departed This Life Sunday, February 29, 2004 at her
residence in Kermit.
She was born on Tuesday,
March 5, 1940, to Ernest and Virgie Savage in Pampa, TX. She married AJ Warren February 22, 1961,
they moved to Kermit and have been a long time residents
since.
Janet was a devout member
of Grace Temple Baptist Church. She loved helping other people,
going to the lake and cooking out.
She was a dedicated wife,
mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her
grandchildren.
She is survived by her
Husband-Allen James Warren of Kermit, Texas, Daughter-Darlene Eaton of
Sonora, Texas, Sister-Maxine Boatwright of Kermit, Texas, Brother-Don
Savage of Saint George, Utah, Grandson-Justin Eaton of Austin, Texas,
Granddaughter-Kara Eaton of Sonora, Texas,
She was preceded in Death
by her Father-Ernest Roy Savage; Mother-Virgie Della (Carey) Savage and

Mary Alice (Ellinger) Williams, age
68, of
Kermit, departed this life Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at her residence.
She was
born Wednesday, July 17, 1935, in Odessa, to the late Georgia Juanita
(Cummins)
and Scott Winfield Ellinger.
Mary settled in
Kermit in 1972, having moved here from Ft Worth. She retired from Ward
County
Sheriff's Office as a Jailer.
Not
only was Mary a
devoted and loving mother, she was very talented and developed a love
and skill
for creating art. She created oil paintings of various subjects from
wild life
to children.
Those
left to cherish
her love and memory are one daughter: Cindy Buscaglia of Kermit; three
sons:
Scott Williams of Kermit, Texas, Roger Williams of Lubbock, Texas, and
David
Williams of Mineral Wells, Texas; one sister: Scottie Ann Ellinger of
Kermit,
Texas; Fifteen grandchildren and Three Great-Grandchildren.

Hinojos, age 39, of Kermit, passed away Tuesday, March 09, 2004, at

Memorial Hospital. He was born Saturday, February 13, 1965 in Pecos,
Texas to
Consuelo (Salgado) and Pedro Hinojos.
Freddy
was a lifetime
resident of Kermit and a member of St Joseph Catholic Church.

Susie Lorene Graham,
age 87, of Colorado City, TX, departed this life Thursday, March 11,
2004 at
Valley Fair Lodge in Colorado City. She was born Monday, May 15, 1916,
in Ore
City, TX to the late Idella Mae (Watson) and Charles Stevenson. She was
a
Baptist and was a member of the Monahans Chapter #561 Order of the
Eastern Star.
Mrs.
Graham was a
resident of Colorado City for 25 years, having moved there from Kermit,
where
she resided for over 30 years. She was an LVN, and assisted Dr Joe
Gibson in
Kermit.
She
is survived by
Five Nieces: Jackie Gilbert of San Angelo, Helen Louise Morgan of
Colorado
City, Mary Louise Thomas of Sacramento, Calif., Charlcey Brabec of
Glendale,
Ariz., and Donna Sue Mory; Two Nephews: Elmer Miles of Haltom City,
Texas and
John R Grimes of San Angelo, Texas; and One Sister in law: Ruth
Stevenson of
Garland, Texas.
Susie
was preceded in
death by her husband, Ray A Graham in 1973, five sisters, four brothers
and
four stepbrothers.

Kermit
Cemetery with Pastor Henry Freund officiating.

Alma “Joey” Shockey,
age 52, formerly of Kermit, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 21st
at her residence in Phoenix, Arizona.
She
was a member of
The Christ Church of the Valley, and her family rejoices in the
knowledge that
she is now whole and healed in Heaven and look forward with confidence
to
joining her there some day.

Funeral Chapel
in Kermit with Lois McCarty officiating. Interment
will follow at the Kermit Cemetery.

Anita Sue Kubena, age
72 of Kermit, passed away at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa Tx.on
Monday,
March 22,2004. She had been a resident of Kermit since 1960 and was a
homemaker. She was born in Rotan, TX. on Saturday, August 8,1931 to the
late
Elsie Lee and Wallace Campbell.
She
met and married
Frankie Kubena in Snyder TX in 1950 and he preceded her in death in
June of
1995. She was a member of Belvue Baptist Church, and loved watching her
church
programs on television. Anita loved reading her bible and other hobbies
included playing cards and bingo, and loving her family.
Anita
is survived by
one daughter Tara and husband Bart Parker of Eunice, NM, one sister
Nina Evans
of Corsicana, TX, one daughter-in-law La Donna Kubena of Midland, TX.,
five
grandchildren: Brandon Mathews , Shelby
Kubena, Marcus Mc Daniel, April Kubena and Jennifer Harrison. Three
great
grandchildren: Dallas Rivera X’zander Harrison and Aden Alcantara and
numerous
nieces and nephews.
Anita
was also
preceded in death by her son Rodney Kubena and two brothers Harold
Campbell and
Jack Wisener, and one sister Dorothy Greer.
Services
are
scheduled for 2:00p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004 at Belvue Baptist
Church with
Pastor Gene Cannon officiating. Interment will follow at the Kermit
Cemetery.
Pallbearers
will be:
Jerry Parker, Austin Williams, Buddy Giles, Edwin McCasland, Willie
Jackson,
and David Gomez. Honorary Pallbearers: Anthony Pender, Kody Fisher, and
Justin
Frisk.
In
lieu of flowers,

TX.
