Mrs. Ida Lorene (Green) Franklin, age 88,
of Kermit, TX, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2003 at Kermit Healthcare
Center. Mrs. Franklin was a retired dietician and resident of Kermit
for four years having moved here from Jal, NM.
She was born
September 24, 1914 in Duffo, TX to the late William Green and Melbrey
Land. She married Russell Emerson on July 11, 1931 in Stephenville, TX.
Mr. Emerson preceded her in death on January 26,1958. She was also
preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Emerson on August 6, 1990.
She is survived by one son: Billy and wife, Linda Emerson of Jal, NM;
Five daughters: Jerry George of La Puente, CA, Janie Encelewski of
Detroit, Mich, Marie Pikes of Seagoville, TX, June and husband, Eddie
Buffington of Lubbock, TX, and Fay and Leroy Montgomery of Paw Paw,
Mich.; One brother: NL and wife, Joyce Green of Stephenville, TX and
One sister: Dolly and husband, Hamp Burcham of Big Spring, TX. Numerous
Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at 10:00 AM MST at
the Church of God in Jal, NM with Brother Michel May officiating.
Interment will follow at Jal Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given
to the Church of God, 121 Alameda St, Jal, NM 88252.

Frank Dearing |
"Daddy"
Frank Dearing, age 68, of Kermit,
TX passed away Monday, January 6, 2003 at his residence. Mr. Dearing
was a retired Fireman and resident of Kermit for 22 years, having moved
here from El Paso, TX. He was born on Tuesday, January 16, 1934 in El
Paso.
Mr. Dearing was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #339
in Kermit. He was preceded in death by his wife Velma, on October 27,
1986 and by one son, Sam Edward, on August 31, 1995.
He is survived by his spouse, Jo Ann Warren of Kermit; One daughter:
Evelyn, and husband Paul White of Kermit; Two step-daughters Linda
Warren of Kermit and Rita Warren of Salt Lake City, Utah; One son:
Franklin Dearing, JR and wife Vicky of Gillette, WY; Two Step-Sons:
Curt Warren and Richard Warren and wife, Sonya of Kermit; Seven
Grandchildren; Seven Step-Grandchildren and five Great-Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Curt Warren, Richard Warren, Alan Haley, Malcolm
Kingston, Dillard Barrick, Franklin Dearing, JR, and Raymond Wildmon.
Funeral Services will be Friday, January 10, 2003 at 2:00 PM at the
Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit with Russ Smith, SR.,
Minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.

M. Corrales |
Mr.
Eleuterio M. Corrales, age 76, passed
away Friday, January 10, 2003 at his residence in Kermit. Mr. Corrales
moved to Kermit in 1998 after retiring from the City of Mountain View,
CA. He was born Sunday, April 18, 1926 in Valentine, TX to the late
Faustino Muniz and Maria Corrales.
He is survived by three
sisters: Mrs. Teresa V. Lopez of Capitola, CA, Mrs. Geneveva Figueroa
of Odessa, TX and Mrs. Petra Perez of Clifton, TX; Six brothers:
Francisco Muniz of Clifton, TX, Oscar Muniz and Faustino Muniz of El
Paso, TX, Trinidad Muniz of Presidio, TX, Estaban Muniz and Alvino
Muniz of Kermit, TX.
Funeral services will be held at Family Services Funeral Chapel at 2:00
PM, Monday, January 13, 2003 in Kermit with interment to follow at
Kermit Cemetery.

J. Hathorn |
Mr.
Leon J. Hathorn, age 71, of Kermit,
passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Medical Center Hospital in
Odessa, TX. He was born Saturday, October 31, 1931 in Welston, LA to
the late Kit and Clara (Danahy) Hathorn. He married Nadene Roberson on
April 16, 1955 in Shreveport, LA. Mr. and Mrs.Hathorn have lived in
Kermit since 1966, having moved here from Rock Springs, WY.
Leon,of Leon's Welding Works, was a retired self-employed welder. He
was a member of the NM District Church of the Nazarene and had recently
attended Freewill Baptist Church in Kermit. Leon served in the Marine
Corps during the Korean Conflict. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed
fishing and hunting quail, dove, pheasant and turkey.
He is survived by his wife, Nadene of Kermit; Three daughters: Sandy
Pape of Whiteface, TX, Brenda Garber of Capitan, NM and Patty
Hutchinson of Roswell, NM; One son: Keith Hathorn of Lubbock, TX; One
sister: Polly Downs of Alexandria, LA and One brother: Kit Hathorn of
Minden, LA and nine grandchildren: Jessica and Danielle Pape, Andrew
and Meghan Tucker, John and Eric Garber, and Shea, Chelsea and Emily
Hutchison.
Pallbearers will be: Keith Hathorn, Jesse Pape, Randy Hutchison, Paul
Garber, Curtis Roberson and Wade Roberson.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 18, 2003, at
Family Services Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cecil Kimberlin officiating.
Interment followed at Kermit Cemetery with military honors.
In honor of Leon Hathorn's memory, the family asks that you consider
becoming a lifetime blood donor. It was only through other's generous
blood donations and God's grace that we were able to enjoy our loving
husband, father and papa these last five months.

Lee "Big Moe" Hopkins, Sr |
Mr.
Melvin Lee "Big Moe" Hopkins, Sr, age
64, of Kermit, TX, passed away Friday, January 17, 2003, at Memorial
Hospital in Kermit. Mr. Hopkins was a retired driller from Patterson
Drilling. He was born Thursday, May 26, 1938 in Conway, Arkansas to
Howard and Opal (Polk) Hopkins. A resident of Kermit since 1959, he
married Debra Shropshire on November 17, 1990 in Wink, TX.
Moe
loved his family and friends. He was known for asking the question: "A
penny for your thoughts". He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother, Opal Paty of Conway, AR; his wife Debbie
of Kermit; daughters: Kathy Haston, Tiffany Hopkins and Step-daughter
Selinia Gonzales of Kermit; Sons: ML Hopkins, Jr of Kermit and step-son
Bubba Harris of Hobbs, NM; Two brothers: Bobby Hopkins and Cecil
Clements of Conway, Arkansas and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Kermit Cemetery at 2:00 PM, Tuesday,
January 21, 2003 with Russ Smith, Sr, Minister officiating. Interment
will follow at Kermit Cemetery.

Jane Jackson |
Dorothy
Jane Jackson, age 64, of Kermit,
passed away Saturday, January 18, 2003, at her residence. Ms. Jackson
was born on March 27, 1938 in Wink, TX to Bill and Martha (Mosley)
Jackson. The family moved to Kermit in 1945.
Dorothy attended
school in Wink and graduated from Kermit High School in 1957. She
graduated from Sul Ross University in 1961 with degrees in
Speech-Drama, English and Physical Education. Upon graduation, she
participated in theatre productions in Long Island, NY and Pasadena, CA.
Dorothy was a prominent, knowledgeable businesswoman in the oil and gas
industry. She and her father were partners in Jal Fishing Tool Company,
an oilfield rental and fishing tool business. She was a partner in
Jackson Rental and Sales and Cable Tool Drilling Company. For the last
25 years, Dorothy was an active co-owner of J-J Rentals & Fishing
Tools in Kermit.
When Dorothy was not busy with her career, she enjoyed golf, her
miniature horse, Moon Shadow, her dog, Lady Jasmine Rose, Pete
Fountain's jazz, reading and spending time with her family.
Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Her greatest
love in life was her family and friends. She was a loyal, dedicated,
loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed, but her
memory will be with us always.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Jackson. Dorothy is
survived by her mother, Martha Jackson of Kermit; One brother: Richard
Jackson of Kermit; Two sisters: Susie Jordan and husband Larry of
Abilene, Betty Ruth McAnally and husband Randy of Midland; nephews:
Blaine McAnally and wife Jana of Dallas, Scott Jordan and wife Stacie
of Henderson; nieces: Alison Gibson and husband Eric of Lubbock, Kellye
Humble and husbnd Jason of Midland; Great-nephews: Blake Humble and
Jackson Jordan; Great-nieces: Sarah and Kate Jordan and her aunt, Mrs.
Dorothea Brenner of Dallas.
Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church at 2:00
PM Monday,January 20, 2003 with Rev. Beth Harrington officiating with
the assistance of Pastor Gary Day of Blanket, TX. Interment will follow
at Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services
Funeral Parlor of Kermit.
Pallbearers are David Fortson, Butch Gilliam, Harrell Tindall, Todd
Ethridge, William Pilkington and Johnny Mack Owen. The family would
like to express their gratitude to Dr. Barry
Whitefield of Kermit, Dr. Pankay Khandelwal, Dr. Joseph Kaczor and the
staff of West Texas Cancer Center of Odessa, Rural Home Health and
Hospice of Kermit and caregiver Alma Flores of Kermit.

F. McGilbra, Jr. |
Mr.
Cullen Freeman McGilbra, Jr., age 46 of
Kingsville, TX, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2003, at Spohn Kleberg
Memorial Hospital in Kingsville. Cullen was born in Snyder, TX on
October 29, 1956 to the parentage of Cullen and Betty Jean (Fitzgerald)
McGilbra. The family moved to Kermit, TX in 1961, where Cullen attended
the Kermit Independent School District and graduated from Kermit High
School in 1975. He went on to attend college at SWCC in Terrell, TX and
then to Texas A&M University in Kingsville where he received his
Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture on December 13, 2003. While
attending TAMUK, he became of brother in the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
He was united in marriage to Sabrina Ann Brown on September16, 1978. To
this union, two children were born.
Cullen was a member of the Church of Christ and obeyed the gospel at an
early age. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Sabrina; One son:
Cullen III and One daughter: Kourtney all of Kingsville. His mother,
Betty McGilbra of Kermit, TX; One brother: Thomas McGilbra of Oklahoma;
Two sisters: DeSharon Malunga and Susan Whiteside of Austin, TX; a
precious granddaughter: Daelan Kaye and a special loving God son,
Marcus DeLeon of Kingsville and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives
and friends.
Pallbearers are Mark Johnson, Wendell Terry, Robert Brown III, Torrey
Brown, Mike Kilgore and Dwight Phillips.
Funeral services are scheduled at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2003
at the West Side Church of Christ in Kermit with Brother Gene Collins
officiating. Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements are
entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.

Elder
L. W. Dixon, age 83, of Kermit, TX,
passed away Monday, January 27, 2003, at Memorial Hospital in Kermit.
Elder Dixon was born Saturday, June 7, 1919 in Longview, TX to the late
Aurthur and Armentia Dixon.
Elder Dixon served in the US Army
during World War II and was a resident of Kermit for 53 years having
moved here from Levelland, TX. He was a landscaper and gardner for Mrs.
Evelyn Lineberry.
A member of Church of God in Christ, he is survived by One Daughter:
Rosemary Jones Dancer of Kermit, Texas; One Son: Grover Brown of
Fresno, CA; Three grandchildren: Richard J. Dancer of Tulsa, OK, Alicia
Brown, Mahkefa Brown of Fresno, CA and Two Great-Grandchildren: Desmond
R. Brown and Kylenz Mason of Fresno, CA. and numerous nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Pallbearers are Elder Chris, Elder Louis, Elder Nichols, Elder Nelson,
Elder Rogers and Elder Samuels. Honorary Pallbearers are Elder Austin
Butler, M. V. Williams, Rev. H.A. Bowens, James Butler, Harry Reeves
and Cleveland Williams.
Funeral services will be at the First United Methodist Church at 2:00
PM Monday, February 3, 2003 with Bishop W.H. Watson officiating.
Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to
Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.

Martinez |
Mr.
Alvaro Martinez, age 61, of Kermit, TX,
passed away Thursday, January 30, 2003, in Kermit. Mr. Martinez was
born Friday, April 18, 1941 in Alpine, TX to the late Enrique Fierro
and Guadalupe Martinez and had been a resident of Kermit for the last
27 years having moved here from Alpine.
He married Norma
Jaquez on May 3, 1963 in Alpine. To this marriage three children were
born. Mr. Martinez was a retired school teacher from Kermit High School
and was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his mother at age 2 and was raised by his
aunt, Luisa Martinez of Alpine, TX. He was also preceded in death by
his father.
He is survived by his wife Norma J. Martinez; Two Daughters: Christina
Martinez and Roni Martinez of Kermit; One Son: Alvaro Martinez, Jr. and
wife, Elizabeth of Odessa, Texas; Three grandchildren: Alvaro Diego
Martinez, Nicolas Jaquez Martinez and Alexis Gabriela Martinez.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM, Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Family
Services Funeral Chapel. Graveside Memorial services will be at Holy
Angel Cemetery in Alpine, TX at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2003.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American
Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. Arrangements are
entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit, Texas.

Mr.
Enrique Acosta Martinez, age 78, of
Kermit, passed away Monday, February 3, 2003, at his residence. Mr.
Martinez was a retired carpenter in the construction field and was a
member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was born Saturday, December 6,
1924 in Terlingua, TX to the late Epifanio Martinez and the late
Eulalia Acosta.
He is survived by his four Daughters: Delia
Madrid of Odessa, Eulalia Marrufo of Wink, Lorina Juarez of Odessa and
Elizabeth Ortiz of Kermit; Four Sons: Manuel Martinez of Midland,
Enrique Martinez, Jr. and Johnny Martinez of Kermit and Ruben Martinez
of Odessa; Three Sisters: Logina Rodriguez of Presidio, Frances Velasco
of Odessa, and Rosa Granado Ollie Martinez of El Paso; Four Brothers:
Epifanio Martinez, Jr., Ismael Martinez , and Ervey Martinez all of El
Paso and Margarito Martinez of Carlsbad, NM; One Step-Sister: Cuca
Salsbury of Artesia, NM; Twenty One grandchildren and Ninteen
great-grandchildren.
Mr. Martinez was also preceded in death by his wife, Margarita
(Dominguez) on January 15, 1999 and one brother, Pablo Martinez of El
Paso.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Martinez, Jeremy Marrufo, Gilbert Marrufo,
Damian Martinez, Paul Juarez and Enrique Martinez, III.
Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at 229 South
Spruce with Demetrio Peneda officating. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at St Joseph Catholic Church with
Fr. John Lucido officiating. Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.

Ibarra Lujan |
Mr.
Esben Ibarra Lujan, age 37, of Kermit,
passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center in
Lubbock. Mr. Lujan was born Saturday, July 24, 1965 in Chihuahua,
Mexico to Valentine and Olimpa (Ibarra) Lujan. He was a resident of
Kermit for the past 16 years, having moved here from Mexico.
He married Teresa Gonzales in 1987 and was employed by Saulcon, Inc. of
Odessa. Mr. Lujan was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mr.
Lujan was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife Teresa Lujan; Three Daughters: Armida Lujan,
Xenia Lujan and Yzaura Lujan all of Kermit; His Mother: Olimpa Lujan of
Odessa; One Sister: Delfica Hernandez of Denison, TX; Three Brothers:
Rene Lujan of Odessa, Isael Lujan, and Oliverio Lujan of Odessa.
Pallbearers will be Isael Lujan, Rene Lujan, Oliverio Lujan, Ricardo
Lujan, Abraham Gonzales and Arturo Gonzales.
Rosary will be held at Family Services Funeral Chapel at 7:00 PM,
Thursday, February 6, 2003. Mass of Christian burial will be held
Friday, February 7, 2003 at 2:00 PM at St Joseph Catholic Church with
Fr. John Lucido officiating. Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery
in Kermit, Texas under the direction of Family Services Funeral Parlor
of Kermit.

Mr. Deward Tolliver "DT"
Taylor, age 64, of Kermit, passed away Sunday,
February 9, 2003, at Memorial Hospital in Kermit. He was born Friday,
October 14, 1938 in Camden, Arkansas to Thomas Tolliver and Glenn
(Richardson) Taylor.
DT was a 45 year resident of Kermit, having moved here from Camden,
Ark. and was a self-employed painter.
He is survived by his father, Thomas Tolliver; Two Daughters: Liz
Weaver of Odessa and Linda Coburn of Midland; Two Sons: Owen Taylor of
Jal, NM and Mike Taylor of Greenwood; One Sister: Pat Davis of Kermit;
One Brother: Gary Taylor of Camden, Ark and Six grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Mark Coburn, Jerry Bell, Kenneth Tidwell, Mike
Titsworth, JR Chapman and Robert Roberson. Honorary Pallbearers are
Buda Barta, Robert Richardson and Red Hicks.
Funeral services are scheduled at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 12, 2003
at Belvue Baptist Church with Pastor Waymon Swopes officiating.
Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to
Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.

Joyce Wood |
Mrs.
Peggy Wood, age 65, of Kermit, TX,
passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital in
Odessa. Mrs. Wood was a resident of Kermit for 36 years. She was a
member of the East Side Church of Christ.
Peggy was born
Tuesday, June 22, 1037 in Temple, TX to the late Lewis C. and Helen D.
(Drake) Hipp. She attended Temple High School in Temple, TX.
She married Boyce Wayne Wood on June 11,1956 in Temple. In 47 years of
marriage, they were only apart for one night. She was a devoted wife
and set an example of marital devotion and loyalty for all to witness
and aspire to duplicate.
Peggy was an avid modern day treasure hunter and garage sale explorer.
Her intrepid spirit took her to many estate sales and garage sales in
this area as well as the Dallas area, where her daughter resides. She
delighted in finding keepsakes as well as everyday items in her
adventures.
She was truly a "craftswoman" as evidenced by her countless handmade
articles in her home and in the homes of her friends and relatives. Her
love of her crafts and the people who received them is evidenced by the
quality and unique nature of each one.
Peggy's pastimes included enjoying sending and receiving e-mails from
friends and family, reading popular fiction books, sewing, knitting,
crocheting, clothes making, local sightseeing and conversing with
everyone she knew.
Her advice and counsel
will be missed by
all who received it. In this life she set an example as friend, mother,
grandmother and wife. Everyone who knew her will miss her dearly and
will always think of her contributions to their lives.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Mr. Boyce Wayne Wood; One Daughter:
Patricia Ann Gadt of Carrollton, TX; One Son: Robert F. Wood of
Lewisville, TX; Two Sisters: Carol Ann Clarke of Hewitt, TX and Mary
Ellen Gordon of Metaire, LA; Two grandchildren: Deanna Marie Gadt of
Carrollton, TX and Holly Wood of Lewisville, TX.
Pallbearers are Jeff Reed, Jerry Phillips, Rodney Hayes, Vernon Wood,
Gene Mixon and Jack Healy. Ronnie Flowers was Honorary Pallbearer.
Funeral services were Thursday, February 20, 2003 at Family Services
Funeral Chapel, with Minister Brian McGonagill officiating. She was
laid to rest at Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Family
Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.

Mr.
Graham Ray Rice, age 44, of Kermit,
passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2003, ain Hobbs, NM. He was born
Sunday, July 20, 1958 in Odessa, TX to the late Richard and Mollie Jo
(Wheeler) Rice. He married Sherri Wicker on December 27, 1978 in Wink,
TX. Mr. Rice was employed by Patterson Drilling as a Driller.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri; Two Sons: Russell Graham Rice of
Altus, OK and Colin Andrew Rice of Wink, TX; Two Sisters: Mollie Jean
Setters of Deltona, FL and Julie Jo Witherell of Orlando, FL; Two
Brothers: Richard Rice, III of Hobbs, NM and Phillip Rice of Madras,
OR; Grandmother: Helen Wheeler of Odessa, TX and Two Grandchildren:
Anna Marie Rice and Ayla Nicole Rice.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Jean Rice in 1988.
Pallbearers are Rusty Alexander, Jackie Voyles, Robbie Slaughter,
Anthony Fabbri, Steve Maycheck and Mike Gray. Honorary pallbearers are
Robbin Blankenship. Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM, Monday,
February 24, 2003 at Family Services Funeral Chapel, with Russ Smith,
Sr, Minister officiating. Interment followed at Kermit Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.

Louise Duncan |
Vernie
Louise Duncan, age 81, of Kermit,
passed away Friday, February 21, 2003 at Kermit Healthcare Center. Mrs.
Duncan was a 28 year resident of Kermit.
She was born Sunday,
June 5, 1921 in Sylvester, TX and was the daughter of the late James
Watson and the late Melinda Jett. She married Gerald Norris Duncan on
July 4, 1939 in Merkel, TX. He preceded her in death on February 12,
1963.
She is survived by One Daughter: Melinda Armstrong of Kermit; Two Sons:
Jerry Duncan of Paint Rock, TX and Terry Duncan of Overton, TX; One
Sister: Annie D. Dickerson of Sweetwater, TX; Eight Grandchildren and
Fifteen Great-Granchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 25, 2003
at the Sweetwater Cemetery with Russ Smith, Sr, Minister officiating.
Arrangements were entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of
Kermit.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes
Association or the National Parkinson Foundation.

Mr.
Joe Howard Wall, Sr, age 51, of Wink,
passed away Friday, February 28, 2003 at his residence. Mr. Wall was
born Wednesday, September 26, 1951 in Blackwell, OK and was the son of
the late Howard N. Wall and Dollene (Worley) Pearson.
Mr. Wall
was the Director of the Opportunity Workshop in Monahans and was a
member of First Baptist Church. He was also a member of VFW Post 6284
and the Wink Lions Club.
He married Vicky Jones on August 9, 1972 in Lovington, NM and had
served in the US Army.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky; Two Daughters: Cami Wall of Wink and
Wendy Medina and her husband, Bud, also of Wink; One Son: Joe Howard
Wall, Jr and his wife, Laura of Hobbs, NM; His Mother and Step-Father:
Dollene and Wayne Pearson of Kingsland, TX; His Step-Mother: Vella Wall
of Kermit; One Sister: Zotyne Smith of Midland; Two Brothers: Mike Gray
of Midland, and Bryan Gray of Kermit; and Nine Grandkids: Dreyton and
Lonnie Rasco, Bailey Wall, Brantlee, Dakota and Awbrie Ryan Medina,
Devan and Megan Wall.
Pallbearers are Glen Stephens, Warren Wilson, Roger Carter, Mike Dodd,
Fred Hall and Richard Hamilton, Honorary Pallbearers are Brian D.
Moore, Jim Mayberry, Carol Richards, Tommy Smith and the Board and
employees of the Opporetunity Workshop.
Funeral services are
scheduled at 2:00 PM,
at the First Baptist Church in Wink on Monday, March 3, 2003 with
Pastor Gary Redwine officiating. Interment will follow at Kermit
Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor
of Kermit.

"Turk" Marshall |
LL
"Turk" Marshall, age 84 of Kermit, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2003
at his residence.
Turk was born January 6, 1919 in Kenefic, OK to the late Earnest Noah
Marshall and Liddie Ellen (McDougal) Marshall. He was a resident of
Kermit for 38 years, having moved here from Crane, TX in 1964.
Turk was employed for Cities Service Oil Co in Crane for 16 years, 1934
to 1959. Hewas co-owner of M & M Truck Center of Kermit, a member
of Belvue Baptist Church and Moose Lodge.
Mr. Marshall married Rosa Fay Brown on April 17, 1941 in Monahans, TX.
Turk is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose; One son: Jack and wife
Clara of Kermit; Two daughters: Mary Ellen Mason and her husband
Charles of Andrews, and Rosie Lee Henry of Kermit; Eleven grandchildren
and Twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, four brother, and
one granddaughter; Debra Kay Mason, June 8, 1997.
Funeral services for Turk were held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 7, 203,
at Belvue Baptist Church with Brother Gene Canon officiating. Interment
was at Kermit Cemetery. Pallbearers Lonny Marshall, Tim Mason, Tommy
Mason, Terry Mason, Bradley Castleman, Lanny Gulow, Marshall Carrell,
Joe Carrell and Tim Kinnear.
The family requests that donations be made to Rural Hospice of Kermit.

Ynes Dominguez,
age 92 of Kermit, passed away
Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at Kermit
Health Care Center. Mr. Dominguez was born Saturday, January 21, 1911
in
Redford, TX to the late Inocente and Paula Dominguez. Mr. Dominguez
married
Nestora Briones on December 3, 1934 in Presidio, TX. She preceded him
in death
in 1981.
He was a resident of Kermit for 54 years
having
moved here from Pecos, TX in 1949. He was a retired construction worker
for L
& N Construction.
Mr. Dominguez is survived by Three
daughters:
Francisca Armendarez and Raquel Lopez both of Kermit, and Eloisa
Dominguez of
Dixon, CA; Two Sons: Eduardo Dominguez of Kermit and Ricardo Dominguez
of
Pecos; One Brother: Elojio Dominguez of Artesia, NM; 20 Grandchildren;
31 Great
Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Rosary was held at 8:00 pm, Friday, March 7,
2003 at Family Services Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was
held at
10:00 pm, Saturday, March 8, 2003 at St Joseph Catholic Church with
Father John
Lucido officiating. Interment followed at Kermit Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Towns, Sonny
Berzoza,
Michael Dominguez, Eddie Lopez, Roland Berzoza, Jamie Armendarez and Ed
Ray
Dominguez. Arrangements were entrusted to Family Services
Funeral Parlor.

Curtis
Eugene Warren, Jr., age 38, of
Kermit, entered into rest Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Medical Center
Hospital in Odessa. A 30 year resident of Kermit, Curtis was born
Wednesday, March 25, 1964 in Union, MS to Curtis and Jo Ann Warren.
He is survived by One Son: Shawn Turner of Kermit; Mother: Jo Ann
Warren of Kermit; Two Sisters: Rita Warren and Linda Warren of Kermit;
One Brother: Richard Warren of Kermit; One grandchild: Cheyenne Turner
of Kermit and numerous nieces and one nephew.
Curt was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be at Family Services Funeral Chapel at 10:00 AM
Monday, March 17, 2003 with Brother Richard Coffman officiating.
Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Richard Warren, Charlie Dorman, Charles Tucker, Johnny
LaLonde, Bobby Chambless, Toby Brooks, Rodney LaLonde .
